Jalen Rose on Mike and Mike

Submitted by Hoken's Heroes on

On my drive to work I try to listen to Mike and Mike on ESPN radio. I have a hard time keeping them dialed in because Greenie is irritating and Golic is even more so with his forced radio guy announcer voice and him always finishing Greenie's sentences. This week, Jalen is on. What do you guys think about Jalen as a commentator? Do you think he has what it takes or does he need a lot more polishing to become a mainstay bball commentator?

Jalen is on frequently on ESPN 710 on the Mason & Ireland show.  At least twice a week during the NBA season he comes on air and talks NBA with the hosts.  I rarely listen to that show because it is almost always about the Lakers, who I hate.  If I know Jalen is going to be on, I tend to tune in.

FWIW, I would rather listen to him than the two hosts.  I guess that is just my Michigan bias.

in general, i think jalen toes the "company line." by this, from what i have seen, i htink he is usually agreeable with whatever ESPN happens to be promoting that week. having said that, i wish to god he would come back to UM and be our director of student development, director of recruiting, assistant coach, or (dare i say!) coach in the near future!!! he's a likeable guy with a great head on his shoulders and obviously cares about the school. he - probably more than anlyone of us - hates to see the bball program in its current shape...but i think he is the type of michigan man to legtimately turn it around

HIs recent comments on recruiting and Detroit have me thinking that he could be the one to get elite recruits to choose the maize and blue, thus putting the instate balance of power back where it belongs.
