Jake Rudock vs. Michigan -- Every Snap

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Finally got this thing done after a week or so of looking around for the Michigan-Iowa 2013 game.

Rudock was 19 for 30 with 239 yards at 8 yards per completion. He threw 2 TDs and 3 INTs. Brought Iowa back from a 21-7 halftime deficit.

Some drives are pretty funny on here. There are parts where Rudock throws once on one offensive drive for Iowa and several drives in the game where Iowa ran three times and punted because Kirk Ferentz.

Brady was very, very good his senior year.  63% completion for 2,586 yards, 20 TDs and 6 picks.  He put up those stats while not playing the second quarter of several games, and missing the second half twice (thanks to the QB rotation), so it was basically the equivalent of only about nine games.

Thanks for the memories.

In all seriousness I will always remember this game as the game in which I realized I had lost my will to care.  When Gardner fumbled at the end I basically shrugged my shoulders.

i already miss jake ryan.

i'm not sure that any other qb on the team makes that pass on the second play...the defense was tight and he slipped that in there perfectly.

I like how he looked. You have a nice running game (looking at you Ty Isaac) and he can do a good job on play action and hit some good passes.

1) Played within the system, and was obviously comfortable with hitting his TEs and WRs. Should fit Harbaugh's system well.

2) Made some mistakes--bad throws, bad reads. Not turrible, but enough to drive you crazy. His #s suggest he's more careful with the ball, but they may be a bit misleading, perhaps because he was in such a "safe" offense. #FerentzBall.

3) He's not dilithium, but he can scoot fairly well and had good judgment on when to pull it down and run.

4) As everyone's said, a solid B1G QB, which raises the floor significantly. Very glad to have him coming.

but I wasn't looking for inspiring. I was just looking for someone who doesn't make me cry. Apart from that way-ugly interception around the 3:24 mark, I didn't want to weep. He was often getting broken in half just as he delivered the ball, so I give the guy some toughness points. Ball floats but, hey, pretty damn catchable for our receivers who can't handle Shane's fastballs.

He'll do.

Like Sopwith said, he'll do. He's got a decent arm and can hit what he's throwing at, he's got some escapability, and looks like he knows how to manage a game. He isn't going to set the world on fire, but he doesn't look like the type to accidentally burn his own house down, either.

The best thing is that he raises the level of competition for the position. He's an open challenge to Morris, Speight, Malzone, or anyone else: Now you know where the bar is set. You want to play? Fine - then play better than this.

I'm sorry, I might be the asshole here but this kid isn't good. Look at the first snap a "game manager " doesn't make that mistake, they would simply take the sack. That wasn't a good Michigan defense in 13' they made many quarterbacks look good that year

Judging ANY QB on one throw is ridiculous.   Yeah, two-years ago he made a terrible decision on a play where a defender came completely free and was going to sack him on the 1 yard-line.   It's ONE terrible play.  That doesn't mean he is somehow a useless QB.

That was just an example, he also threw 2 more picks that game. I'm just sayin that offense I'm not believing in him. I could very well be wrong I've been wrong plenty of times in my life but I just don't see it im sorry.
