Why the Browns did not make a move to sign him is beyond me.  We have the island of misfit toys under center and he seemed like a natural fit here.

Oh well.   I guess analytics didnt support a talented, young, accurate QB with pocket presence and natural leadership qualities.  But it did support Cody Kessler.

I would rather Rudock have more than a one year career than play for the industrial QB trash compactor that is the Cleveland Browns. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if some spiteful wizard put a curse on the position to teach us muggles a lesson.

tried to sign him so the Lions had to either wave goodbye or promote him. Good move in my opinion; this means he's in real contention for the back-up spot next year and it keeps him away from a rival. F da Bears.

His Tom Brady moment when Stafford goes down with an injury and Rudock rockets the Lions to their first Super Bowl ever. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go make fun of myself for that thought.

Pretty sure that, if something like that ever happened, I would be quite unsure what to feel or what to do with any feelings that I had in that moment. It would be the most anti-Lions Lions success story in quite some time, perhaps in the history of the franchise.

I will join you in the corner so I can chastise myself for entertaining this particular train of thinking now.

Bears are already down two QB's for the season, and Colts only carry two, but are without Luck. Glad he's on a roster, and I hope he's able to seize the backup job next year. EDIT: Posters above indicate my guess was correct.

According to my calculations*, he will make $168,750 if he stays on the active roster the rest of the season. Not bad for warming up and holding a clipboard. For the sake of the Lions, I hope Stafford keeps playing like a star and Rudock doesn't need to see the field.

*Showing my work: 2016 rookie salary is $450,000. There are 6 games remaining of the 16 total. $450k/16*6 = $168,750.
