get a life, dude.
Dan O'Neill would probably have been a very good player in the pro style offense. He had offers from Nebraska and Florida State plus he was ranked in the top 50 by Rivals.
He was lazy, and there's no proof that Fisher is.
I think the word on O'Neill was unhappy, not really "lazy" -- he was a firm redshirt in 2008, so it's hard to say what might have happened if he had survived his freshman year at Michigan.
I thought that I read that he enjoyed video games a lot and really didn't care for football, but who knows, I could be wrong.
Since leaving, Dann O'Neill has admitted he was having academic problems -- he transferred to be with his brother and get his shit together. He didn't say anything bad about Michigan (where he redshirted) on the way out. He started last year at Western (his first year of actually playing D-1 football) and has two years of eligibility left. It's way too soon to say he's a bust -- he could easily end up in the NFL.
I pray to God that Jake Fisher doesn't see this thread.
Jake Fisher is by all accounts a very talented football player. I hope he doesn't go to Oregon. People posting negative things about him just because it is rumored that we missed out is silly. Stay Classy San Diego!
I am all for freedom of speech, especially on fan sites, but on the eve of signing day, if there is even a scintilla of hope that this kid's mind is not made up and that we could get him, this type of thread can only hurt.
In the interests of the program, we should declare marshal law and take this stupid thread down.
If not, and if it remains, and Jake, if you are still reading through all of these comments, because you have nothing more important / interesting to do on the night before the biggest decision of your life is due and there is nothing good on TV and it is snowing so you can't go out: The OP is just kidding. He is doing a pretty obvious parody of what an Oregon fan would say about you. They are a negative bunch, those Oregonians. We Michigan fans, by contrast, are positive, caring and patient by nature. We would embrace you immediately, never criticize you and would sing your praises daily. Also, don't be fooled by what you saw on campus - our women are way hotter than Oregon's.
I could have sworn I logged into MGoBlog.......but it appears I've been transported directly to MLive. FUUUuuuuuuuuuuu
I kind of doubt Fisher will care what one anonymous blog poster thinks, but this thread has no real stand-alone value, so I'm not sure why it is here. Even if Fisher doesn't pan out the way some people think, there is no need to badmouth him OR O'Neill for the way their lives may or may not play out.
Was an epic bust who couldnt make it in the MAC...Western, I believe.
Comparing him to Fisher is one of the dumbest comparisons ever.
Uh, didn't he start for WMU? That's hardly "couldn't make it" but whatever.
Started all of last year in his first year of eligibility after redshirting at Michigan. Will undoubtedly start the next two years at Western. We'll see him this Fall in the opener. Not a bust, epic or otherwise, and didn't leave Michigan for football reasons. People assumed that, but it wasn't true. Kept his mouth shut when he left.
