@jlambo32 just hit the farthest ball I've ever seen!!!! 420 at comerica!! Hit the green wall! #EastWest

per twiter post. Jackson Lamb, UM incoming frosh 2013/14 is having a great game at the All Star event. Sounds like he started the game with a rip single and took the mound. I'm sure there will be further details, sounds like UM baseball coach also in house watching the game.

Lamb yesterday was also named co-winner of the Michigan Mr. Baseball award, along with fellow Michigan signee Carmen Benedetti. (They plan to be roommates at Michigan, coincidentally.)

Benedetti also played in the All-Star game, as did four other future Wolverines: Hector Gutierrez, Johnny Slater, Harrison Wenson. and Brett Adcock.

Johnny Slater was probably one of those Bakich was referring to as "putting on a show." This is from a MIPrepZone article on the game:

Helping the offensive attack for the East was Southfield-Lathrup’s Johnny Slater, who went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and two runs scored.

Normally a No. 3 hitter, Slater actually batted in the lead-off spot and made the transition seamlessly, starting the game by singling off of future Michigan teammate and the co-winner of the Mr. Baseball Award, Jackson Lamb of Temperance Bedford.

“I have never really hit lead-off before but it was pretty cool,” said Slater, who has drafted in the 31st round by the Atlanta Braves last month. “Facing Jackson, my future teammate and playing with future teammates, I got a feel of what it will be like in college with these guys.”

Also, Hector Gutierrez had a three-run double, and Carmen Benedetti picked up an RBI on a triple.

If not next year, they'll certainly have a shot in 2015. Bakich and his staff have already secured one of the top 2014 recruiting classes in the Big Ten. And looking further ahead, they're off to a great start on the 2015 class.

Also, here's an MLive article on the all-star game focusing on the future Wolverines: University of Michigan baseball recruits headline MHSBCA East-West All-Star Game at Comerica Park.

And, posted on Twitter, a photo of Hector Gutierrez and Johnny Slater, future Michigan roommates:
