On the margin, it made no sense.  Yes, Sparty's hopes of scoring another TD were nearly non-existent at that point w/ 1 second remaining, since you can't advance a recovered onsides kick, but still, all going for two does is reduce the chance that you'll be less than seven points down afterward from 95% to 40-45%.

Serves Mork right for making a negatively contributing decision to the expected outcome.

The game was mostly unenjoyable from a "why are they so close?" perspective, but I laughed so goddamn hard at the final play.  Literally no reason to go for two instead of an extra point, and it bit them so hard.  Eat shit, Dantonio.

It was important that Jabrill actually housed it right? Because theoretically MSU could've recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and returned it for the tie right? The 2-pt conversion took MSU's odds from 0.1% to 0.0%

and yes, I will eat crow. I wasn't sure of it being a blowout but sure didn't see that crap MSU offense moving the ball that well. thought for once we were good enough and MSU bad enough that MSU's disrespekt-power would finally just got dominated by talent. Obviously not.

I didn't make my point well.  MSU would have had to recover it completely cleanly, I guess.  The clock doesn't start until the ball is touched, so if it bounced around a bit, the clock would expire, but if not, then, maybe they'd get one play in.

There is one scenario where it could have mattered, we recover the kick, but instead of going down we try to return it and fumble, then they could have run it back. After last year I didn't want to chance anything. The odds were tiny but these are just kids they make mistakes

There's no reason for Dantonio to go for two there. Makes no sense. But Dantonio was only trying to troll. They get what they deserves with Peppers running it back.

the game was over no matter what. if msu recovers onside kick they can't advance the ball, and that would have taken the 1 second off the clock. he was trying to make the score look better, but now looks even worse. win-win
