Jabrill Peppers Visits

Submitted by htm11 on

Jabrill Peppers is not going to visit Stanford. Planning return visit to Penn State the weekend of May 18th. Per Rivals (from interview with Pepper's coach)

No Stanford visit for Jabrill Peppers? Looking that way, though one to PSU is in the works. U-M is still the strong frontrunner.

From a coach's perspective, there is plenty to like about Penn State. Good, knowledgable coaching staff with NFL experience, good education, lots of opportunity to contribute and rebuild.

From a player's perspective, those things aren't as high as being on TV a lot and winning.

"Good" being the operative word. But not great like Michigan and Stanford. If he is really dropping Stanford for Penn State, then he's not as serious about education as we thought.

If he's just adding Penn State because it has a great football tradition playing in one of the best, most competitive divisions in the NCAA, and he is still considering Stanford, it makes sense and is a good sign. Think about it:

  • Stanford: great education, good football
  • Penn State: good education, great football
  • Michigan: great education, great football

An easy choice in the end, but still a choice, and visits to see another great educational environment (Stanford) and another great football environment (Penn State) make sense.

I don't care how good a coach Bill O'Brien is; Penn State is not going to be Penn State for quite some time, if ever.  I can't imagine he would throw away his talent playing for a program that has nothing to offer competitively.  I can see him picking Stanford over us, but Penn State?
