Oops. Looks like I'm a noob who can't embed Vines right. This is the link:
Jabrill Peppers Utilizes Hit Stick
Didnt work again
Impressive hit. Gonna be fun to watch him here! Also, I'm not sure you can embed vines. At least not by using their built in embed process because it uses an iFrame and I'm not sure those are supported.
After some fenangling I think I got it:
I could be wrong, but I believe that particular WR will think twice now before he tries to pick up a reception in the vicinity of Peppers. I don't mind having a defensive backfield that inspires that sort of apprehension.
Great googly moogly.
like he was hit with a lead-filled snowshoe.
I think that was more of the hit stick button
I thought it was called a truck stick way back in Madden 03 or 05. One or the other. Thats what I've always called it at least
Edit: Looks like it was 06. Per the source of all e-knowledge, wikipedia:
In Madden NFL 06, the "Truck Stick" was introduced.
The "Truck Stick" is used on offense in Madden and the "Hit Stick" is used on defense. Pretty similar, but not quite the same.
True. And I think the hit stick was created in 05 when ray Lewis was on the cover and they wanted to make it more of a defensive game
Get to campus fast enough...
Can he play center too?
Was he pronounced dead on the scene?
He just killed a guy.
I think Hoke would've heard the physicalness had he been there.
Decent chance he heard it anyhow, wherever he may have been.
Is this another huge hit, or the same one from about a week ago?
I think it's the same one. Not that I don't mind watching it again though.
but i'd assume that's a $50k fine in the nfl
Had to take a step back from the violence. Hilarious.
He quickly realized that he just witnessed a murder and thought "man, I got to get outta here"
It's not fair to other kids that talents like Peppers are on the same field. That poor kids legs are fun to watch.
What about Da'Shawn Hand?
He is a big kid against little kids. I'm never sold on big guys to produce early on, they're no longer the big kids in college and take time to produce(ie Gabe Watson, Will Campbell).
will definitely have the bigger impact early on. As you say, Hand can easily dominate at the H.S. level because of his huge physical advantage against most other kids. In college, he will be up against lots of bigger and possibly stronger guys from the get go. Peppers on the other hand is already physically more gifted than most college players. Plus, it's just easier for offensive players to make a big impact early than on defense. And Peppers will almost surely be used on selected offensive plays in year 1. It'll still take him some time to learn college defense though.
He would be the most explosive player on the roster this year. Either RB or WR...he needs to be entrenched in the offensive game plan from Day one. We need play makers badly and this kid is a pure difference maker with the ball in his hand. I really hope we dont camo him out solely on defense....major disservice if we do.
Wonder what the recruiting promises were....
Especially seeing his stats every week, I think he's the closest player to being able to play both ways we've recruited in a long time. He could definitely play RB or WR. Seeing plays like this though make me more excited than anything, backing up all that hype. A truly destructive DB.
I'd take a Charles Woodson II in a heartbeat. Having such a disruptive player on the defense gives us a game-changing advantage. He WILL get some pick-6's and cause fumbles on plays, including some devastating corner blitzes. That being said, I do agree that Michigan needs to get him involved on the offensive side of the ball somehow too, or maybe even punt returns.
I think the thing that worries me about hand is the competition he plays against. From my understanding it's nothing to write home about, so does that make him look like superman?
PEPPERS I GUESS IS PLAYING TOP TALENT EVERY YEAR WHICH TELLS. ME HE WILL BE READY VERY SOON!!!
The dream for me would be for Peppers to enroll early, get involved in spring ball (i.e. playbook, system, etc) and a whole summer of weight training. I think if you add that all up, he's going to be an impressive athlete to watch at Stadium and Main out of the gate next fall.
The worry for me is he's confined to defense. I think his HS coach said something to the effect of "give him 5 touches on offense a game". Seems like he'd be a perfect complement to what Norfleet is doing with jet sweeps/reverse/double reverse except at 6' x 210. Put Fleet and Peppers on kickoff returns...no "safe" alternative for the other team other than to launch it into the first row of seats behind the endzone!
