Jabrill Peppers named USA Today All-USA Defensive POY
Congrats to Jabrill, can't wait to see him in the maize and blue next fall.

but I think he's going to have a huge impact here including raising recruiting another level. It's his personality in addition to his talent that makes him special.

Cool. Go Blue!
Stay the hell away Alabama.

he won't be here until 2014. We get a fresh start.

For those interested, MaxPreps has a pretty complete profile of Peppers' stats on both sides of the ball as well as on special teams here - LINK
Hopefully, his arrival at Michigan doesn't interrupt in the slightest the pace at which he picks up honors like this. He truly seems like a special athlete as well as someone with a pretty great outlook as well.
The 4 INTs, incidentally, came to 126 yards, and he also had 12 pass breakups and a caused fumble. He also had 1,381 all-purpose yards on offense.

Other than Drew Henson, has UM football ever signed a National Player of the Year before? I know that several organizations award such honors, but I can't think of anyone who did (maybe Mallett, though Jimmy Clausen was higher-rated that year??)

Look at some of those named Defensive POY recently...
Peterson, Joyner, Te'o (yeah, yeah), Clowney...

We did a poor job in this lost season, either due to coaching (scheme), or simply due to lack of talent.
Look forward to a much better 2014 with Jabrill in the line up.
Congratulations Jabrill!

I'm thinking scheme??? The coaches all the sudden seemed to become conservative with the aggresiveness of the D. I guess they weren't confident in their coverage skills as a unit when blitzing alot. If Peppers comes in is able to contribute and if Wilson and Thomas improve, I actually think the secondary can become a strength on the team.

but everything points to him being another 'once in a decade' type of player. Like Brandon Graham / Mike Hart kind of guy

He will have an impact as a FROSH, however, don't expect him to "dominate" anything. I'll be happy if he gets significant playing time and is the starter for the majority of the season.

He will start at cornerback against App State. I hope the coaches are smart enough to use him on offense.

...then go smack yourself.
Smart enough?
LOL
Like smart enough to scrap the POWER vs. Penn St.?
Like smart enough to develop a short-medium passing game vs. MSU?
Smart enough to call a timeout before the 2 pt coversion vs. OSU?
Smart enough to call plays that take the pressure off of your young inexperienced offensive line?
...I love Michigan, but I don't trust that we're "smart enough" to do anything at this point.

me neither, but i mean, if he's as electric in practice as he was in HS, they'll figure it out.

When the best thing to happen to Michigan football all year is the play of a recruit who nobody can say with 100% accuracy will ever don the Maize and Blue... New Year plz
