Wow.. just Wow...
This excited for a top recruit for I don't know how long. I would say it's been at least a year ;)
This kid may be the best athlete we have ever had. He will be great if he stays healthy. The only flaw I see is that he needs to wrap up when he tackles and quit throwing his shoulder. Wrap up and drive thru.
only flaw I see is he is too damn fast and not a good sport. He won't let those kids keep up with him.
not bad. I think he has a future in football.
This kid is unbelievable. barring something unforeseen, he is absolutely a two-way player. Could be the most dynamic player that Michigan has picked up in the last 15 to 20 years.
He's good at tackle football
This blog is going to be so insufferable about his freshman year. Either he gets significant playing time and people complain about the coaches when he doesn't live up to impossible expectations, or he doesn't and people complain about the coaches for not playing a true freshman more.
Only two things are certain in mgoblog: panic, and complaining.
Yep. There are no other possibilities.
It's more likely he'll be the first freshman Jim Thorpe award winner.
However, I do think he'll live up to the hype.
contract, did you?
He just blows shit up. I'm gonna go with that one.
He needs to play both ways, not wildcat but getting him the ball is a necessity. If effective teams will cue on him which would open up more space for Funchess, Darboh, Butt, Green etc... Good to see he can stick a runner and have some good power behind those hits.
Acceleration. That play where he tracked down the QB from behind makes it look like the QB was jogging.
I mean......I just....... WOW you sir get all the upvotes for this post.
Find a way to get Peppers the ball. He is a game changer in every sense of the word.
I know Peppers will be primarily on defense, but for as creative as a play designer as Borges supposedly is, he'd damn well better find some ways to get Peppers on the field for the offense.
I think his swagger is gonna help us out on defense in addition to his obvious skill level. Kid's got all the confidence in the world, and with the talent to back it up, it'll be fun to watch next year if the defense can feed off that energy and game breaking big play ability he brings.
I mean wen is the last person you have seen say he really is clearly too good to play in Highschool anymore, he would have had success at the college level this past year.
Yes this is who I thought of man could you imagine Clowney and Peppers on the same Highschool team.
How Jabrill is not the #1 player I don't know. I'd be saying that if he wasn't committed to Michigan too. I know Fournette is a monster, Cameron Robinson is probably a future NFL OT, and Hand is a rock with lightning quickness, but Jabrill is just flat out special. He would be the best player on the field at about 6 different positions. Hopefully the hype machine doesn't claim another victim because this kid will be great given time and opportunity.
It does seem like he is more of a game chaning type player that makes everyone better, rather than just the best player at his postion. His athletic ability is obvious, but I also get a strong sense of leadership ability and swagger that also makes me excited about his days in the winged helmet.
...he has so much talent and physically looks the part...can't believe he is not #1! I never like to make the comparison, but he has some ashes of Reggie Bush when he plays offense.
WOW!!! Some of those hits he delivered I actually felt sorry for those poor kids...not really..that dude brings the lumber when he hits someone. Can't wait for him to be in the Winged helmet.
There were definitely more I've seen. You can go to HUDL and watch every game highlights of his.
*bites bottom lip 'til it bleeds*
From the get go I assume he's in on nickel packages and probably returning punts. But the coaches showed no creativity this season to get the ball in the hands of Norfleet - a special player in space w/o a position. I truly wonder how they can/will gameplan him in on offense based on the Norfleet experience, especially considering that Pepper's - unlike Norfleet - will be learning the defense as well.
I'm willing to bet a large amount of money that Borges calls jet sweep/jet sweep action on at least his first 3 career offensive snaps.
And I will scream on play #2 when the D blows it up.........but Jabrill still takes it to the house, making the entire team miss, a la the Denard 1 shoe run. Can't wait.
That was a "WOW" highlight reel - I would have to agree with others here. He's a superb athlete and the multipurpose aspect is definitely something that would give us an edge in situations on both sides of the ball potentially. I really like the idea of someone that fast and unafraid to hit in the secondary especially. His uncanny knack for being where the ball is should make for some pretty awesome INTs hopefully.
Thank you for that wonderful Christmas gift.
Holy moly @ 2:30
Dude is an effing beast!
Also, does anyone know why random plays in HUDL videos go completely blurry making it impossible to see anything?
Just a special athlete. I think he'll be returning punts and kick-offs with Norfleet. Also, for those wondering about Norfleet. Norfleet is a good player, but Peppers is elite. Yes, Norfleet was left out of the offense much of last season, but one thing about Norfleet is he is quick. He's quick but not fast. Norfleet has a good burst, but his top speed isn't that great. Where as, Peppers has elite size, speed, and burst.
So yes, you can say the offense didn't use Norfleet a lot last year, but that's not fair to Peppers. Norfleet is a good player, but not even an All-Big Ten level guy in my opinion. Where as, Peppers is clearly elite and should easily be All-Big Ten/All-American by his sophomore/junior year. Just two completely different guys.
Anyways, I expect to see Peppers utilized in a few different ways next year, but I'm sure you'll see him more and more as he gets older. Next year I expect punt returns, kick returns, and some defense. Maybe a few offensive plays here and there.
Part of Norfleet's problem on special teams was bad blocking. How many times did he catch it with 3 unblocked gunners bearing down on him and he magically escaped for ten yards? On offense his main problem is the defense knowing every time he's on the field he's getting the ball. He's been handcuffed this far in his career.
This is somewhat of the problem, but doesn't take away from the fact that he's just an average player in the Big Ten. Hence the reason he has yet to get a ton of playing time. To be honest, I don't see a lot of playing time in his future either. That's not to say he won't play some on offense, but with the receivers being brought in, his role won't be getting very big.
Can't wait to see Countess, Taylor and Peppers roaming the secondary next year.
This kid is an absolute stud. I love the play @ 3:46 where he seems out of the play, then chases down the ball carrier and appears to strip the ball. Great hustle.
Jabrill certainly know how to hit stick mofos.
He looks very impressive in his high school film. I hope his highlight tape from Michigan looks even better. It's a big jump from HS to B1G.
I really don't understand how he's not a consensus number 1 in the nation. From what I've seen the kid is a 5 star CB, 5 star RB, and probably a 5 star WR and LB. He has no weaknesses.
Only human. Which is his greatest weakness
I guess I'm the only one the Hudl won't allow to see this. Tried 'youtubing' to no avail. Can someone please convert this or tell me why I can't see anything but a Hudl logo?
a better version of his highlight tape with a few more clips and music(ha ha). He'll be posting it on youtube, so we'll get ya.
The more I look at him tho, he's definitely a safety, right? It would probably even be a diservice to him to exclusively stick him on an island when he can make plays all over the field like that to go along with that hitting ability. Sean Taylor-esque? Too early I know...
Countess/Taylor, Wilson, Dymonte/Jabrill...on paper, man, that's as good as anybody in the B1G is putting out there next year. If transfers don't kill us, could very well be our 1st big-time defense in a while.
I can't imagine how good he'll be with a redshirt to get used to the size and speed of college. /s. Jabrill is in the stratosphere with Woodson and Wheatley IMO.
That was some impressive shit. No way does he redshirt.
When I try to watch them it says they are private highlights and i can't watch them. Any way around this??
Jabrill won't redshirt.
His HUDL highlights JUST went private last night sometime, not sure why. Maybe because he is releasing his own on Youtube version very shortly.
