everyone can stop with the running around screaming and panic now
Jabrill Peppers "100 percent going Blue"
what?!?! panic and run around screaming is an mgoblog tradition.
Well, that will dry up 97.8% of the comments on this board.
Until he signs his letter, I'm still skeptical.
On the contrary, it is indeed logical to be skeptical until he signs the letter of intent.
TomVH and Mike Farrell both declared the same thing yesterday. It's in the monday recruiting post. Sounds like the drama is all the way over.
that Hoke's job was in jeopardy. While I suppose Jabrill could have picked up the notion from social media and internet posting boards, I doubt he would give any credence to message board rantings by the fire-Hoke contingent. It probably came from coaches at other schools.
I can't see where he could get it from anywhere else.
You're acting like negative recruiting isn't the norm in this business. This is not shocking or alarming. If you want assuage concerns, start winning and the rumors will go away.
Hardly. All I was wondering about was who was doing the negative recruiting.
Yeah I'm curious about that as well. Always fun to find out who the a$$holes are.
was Brady Hoke to the NFL so I think this will always be an issue.
that more of the interview will be available on GoBlueWolverine.com later today, so it's possible he did ask that question. I'd also be very curious as to the answer.
Just to add a little to this, for those that want to hear the radio interview with Peppers on WTKA (which was recorded yesterday but only aired this morning), it is the second one up on this listing -
Jabrill was/is more worried about the 7-5 record more than Hoke getting canned. Same with Shawn Crawford. If we had say a 10-2 season like we should have, neither would even consider looking plus we would have Hand and McDowell. Sigh. Hopefully we can win the bowl game and start sting next year. Go Blue!
if we had a 10-2 record there would be no talk of anybody getting fired so I am not sure you can draw that conclusion.
It's not unreasonable to speculate that's the real situation, but don't make it sound like it's an established fact. Unless you can point to a specific statement that Jabrill made, that's simply your opinion.
On the radio interview, Jabrill talked specifically about adjusting to different coaches and Hoke's job security being an issue.
And if he was wavering because we were 7-5, what caused him to change his mind? Did we get the record changed?
To the last question- please tell me yes!
"With the rumors about Coach Hoke possibly not being there I need to make sure that I have options and have seen other places." - Peppers
— Tom VanHaaren (@TomVH) November 26, 2013
of that is actually Jabrill Peppers telling Hoke to "step it up." Based on almost beating OSU I would say that Hoke got the message.
We almost beat OSU because Hoke was motivated by the threat of losing Peppers. Makes perfect sense.
I don't think he really cared about the record this year as he thinks he is going to dramatically improve whatever deficiencies we have. I think it was the fear that Hoke was going to be terminated that gave him pause.
Yeah, I think he is quoted somewhere as saying "that's why it's called rebuilding" or something like this when asked a question about the season record.
....showing more wisdom than those demanding heads roll.
Thank you baby Jesus
I wish he wouldn't preface all his comments with "I think." "I think" significantly waters down the "100%" part. If he was really 100% sure, he'd say "I'm staying Blue" instead of "I think I'm going to stay true and Go Blue." That's more of a lukewarm sentiment than a commitment.
Are we sure the good Michigan news moratorium is over? We should check with the gods before we take this as fact.
Which gods? The old gods, the seven, possibly The Lord of light?
Signing day can't come soon enough!
Is anyone a bit concerned that UM's top recruits are meeting with the AD to get "assurances" on the coaching staff? I don't follow recruiting that much so I don't know. It's obvious that Hoke isn't going anywhere next year or prob for the foreseeable future, but what if next year is a Trainwreck?
Griffin and even Gee(when he was there) always meet with top recruits at Ohio state so I don't see why it's a big deal.
Was just curious.
Sam has talked about that in the past - it's a normal part of the process for AD's to meet with recruits.
to assure the recruit that he wasn't going to fire Gee.
Griffin & Gee met with the recruits to assuage their concerns about who was in charge...
We can haz nice thingz??
UCLA and Penn State are also blue.
It's not over until a LOI comes through the fax machine at Schembechler Hall with Jabrill's name on it.
...is he 110%?
I'm here for the PosBang
This is where I go YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad he's in back in the fold and I look forward to seeing him here.
