Fans don't have a right to come on the field, fans don't have a right to degrade or verbally abuse players, fans don't have a right to harm or attempt to harm players.

I'm sorry, but fans can boo. That's just part of sports, period.

If it offends you, get better or play better.

I don't condone the majority of fan behavior, but booing? I'm sorry, that just doesn't cross the line for me - and anyone who says it's not "classy" well, that's your opinion.

Now I didn't go to any games last year - so it wasn't me...but if you think I wasn't screaming at my TV just as pissed off...you're mistaken. They played like SHIT. The coaches coached like SHIT. Booing is part of the deal.

You know what fans do if you don't play and coach like shit? You know what they do if you play and coach well? THEY CHEER.

They have a right to boo by buying tickets but it does absolutely nothing to help us but hurt us. We get rivals who say "Michigan boos their own team lol." Then recruits decide to not play for us and it snowballs because we're not getting better players coming into the program.

we had already dealt with the negative backlash last fall when it happened. So the question is why are we rehashing this incident which you acknowlege is negative for recruiting? Its because a player decided to bring it up in a public forum several weeks before fall camp. I find that questionable.

Booing is by nature a ridiculous activity.  It has no functional purpose whatsoever and only serves to bring down the morale of the players who are typically doing the best they can.  Yes, going 5-7 sucks.  We don't need people to boo to help everyone understand that.

Same people who say you should not boo are the same people who say you should never stop attending games.

So my question to that group is if no displeasure is allowed to be shown....EVER....to the team, what's the catalyst for change? If IMO you'd still be stuck with Brandon & Hoke if the stands had remained packed with cheering fans.

I was against it at the time but I'm also against the players (Jabrill) acting like it was uncalled for. If 5-7 and garbage performance was Ok with them, I'm missing something. They "deserved" to get booed. Not saying we should have done it, but Jabrill should acknowledge they did it I themselves. 5-7 isn't acceptable at Michigan.

When I had to watch Norfleet draw attention to himself by dancing like a complete jag off in the PSU game. For a program and fan base that love Bo's saying The Team The Team The Team it amazes me how many fans support what he was doing.

Sorry if some of the older fans actually remember when Michigan WON.  5-7 is NOT ACCEPTABLE.  These aren't little kids playing fucking teeball.  They are getting an education and scholarships worth upwards of $50K a year plus every other imaginable benefit.  This team needs to grow up quick.  If they don't expect to be booed for that lousy season, when do they expect it?  Do they expect to walk through life on rainbows with fans lauding their every move?  It's not high school ball anymore.  This matters.  The goddamn highlight of the season was beating an unranked, terrible Penn State team at home... barely.  Wins vs. Appalachian State, Miami of Ohio,  Indiana and that piss-poor performance at NW?  And they don't expect fans to be upset?  That team wouldn't have even been good in the MAC!  And coaching isn't EVERYTHING.  The team just couldn't goddamn PLAY GOOD FOOTBALL.

I booed when we decided to run out the clock at the end of a half when there was a chance of running the two minute drill. Or when hoke waited for the clock to go down to like 4 and then punted.

I stayed until the end of the notre dame game last year and their announcer said the score at the conclusion of the game:

Notre Dame thirty one...Michigan NOTHING

I would hope the players that were there and contributed to that loss would use that as motivation...

I hate that Michigan fans boo players. Michigan fans didn't used to do that crap. Even during down seasons. A tailored boo directed at coaching decisions may be fine, but players deserve encouragement during tough moments. I looked down on U Texas fans when I went to undergrad there, because they boos players constantly (and hurled all sorts of abuse). But I've come to realize we are no better.

How soon people forget. We had a historically bad AD, the definition of a crony at head coach and a new president new to big-time sports who would have preferred more time to learn than the program had. Last season was urgent and fan backlash inspired extremely positive change. Was booing an important part of that movement? Probably not. Am I going to blame anyone for resorting to it the heat of the moment? Hell no. It felt like Michigan football had been taken hostage.

Very well said. Not a fan of booing at a game but at the point you just described, I understand it. The players will probably not appreciate any of the fans riots over Hoke and Brandon, but bottom line I think those players who genuinely want to get better and be in the pros will be much happier at how it all turned out. Additionally, if you want to go to a school where the fans are apathetic, Michigan is not the place.

These guys have to do it on the field instead of on Twitter. If you are continually tweeting "Grinding" and "Getting it" you probably aren't. Of course when kids are made out as football gods before ever doing a thing on a college football field you will keep getting these statements.

Peppers works hard. I'm not saying he doesn't. My post was a general statement. The issue is he has done nothing in a Michigan uniform and should just continue to work hard. Earn your respect on Main Street. Jordan Lewis works his ass off as does Jake Butt. Cole also does the same. You realize there were guys held out of Spring Practices that had nothing to do with injury right? In the end everyone is in love with Harbaugh but with time a lot will have issues with how he does things with this program. I for one won't be one of those complaining. Guy is not only a genius he holds people accountable. Something that has been sorely missing for 7 years. We have finally entered modern football.

Your part about being held out of practice for other reasons. Meaning they weren't practicing hard enough or what?
