Just stop plz.
still not over it in South Bend
Just stop plz.
I think the last couple of years have shown that regardless of RichRod's long-term prospects, in the short term he wasn't an ideal fit.
But I do think that some people seem to enjoy proving the adage that those who speak don't know, and those who know don't speak.
It's easy to sit back and lob grenades at a guy when he's down. Lord knows that they're doing that in East Lansing and Columbus. And to call a guy who (I'm presuming) you've never met a d-bag of low moral character based on information gleaned 3rd-hand from the internet, puts you on par with the "durr, DickRod and scUM suck" crowd.
I've never met RichRod. I can't say what kind of person he is. You've never met RichRod. Go to bed.
It's also easy to sit back and call a guy a saint who you've never met. You can't have it both ways. Character and everything aside, and we've talked about it a million times on here, if he wins all will be forgiven. If not he may be on his way out or on a very short leash for the following year.
To be fair people could point to Pete Carrol and how he took that kid in who was terminally ill and made him part of the team. There was a piece on it during Gameday at some point last season. Pete has no respect on this board. This guy has a legit beef with what he is saying. Just because you disagree I guess means that it's fair to pile on.
In fact, I explicitly said that I've never met RichRod, so I can't say what kind of person he is.
I thought my point was pretty clear. If the poster is going to claim that RichRod has low moral character, that's his right. But he'd better trot out more than a couple of straw men and a discredited story about some shredded documents in West Virginia...
Dude went about it all wrong but his frustration is understandable. The timing of it is not. If we start the season off on the wrong foot then it will probably be like this everyday. I doubt we will, though.
His frustration with the team getting the unholy hell kicked out of it is understandable. Angry Michigan 2009 Hating God knows I've thrown a few profane tirades to the winds. But to make it a personal character attack takes this into the 'jackass' category.
I agree with you on that one. I think we've all been there throwing things at the tv or screaming in frustration in the Big House. In reality you could blame the players his first two years. It was well known that there was dissension from a multitude of players his first year. That makes it pretty hard to win when the guys who are playing for you don't believe in you either.
HAHAHA! I'm watching American Dad and the mom just said she was going to SeaWorld to punch a dolphin. She'll have Rosenberg as company.
I held the door for him once at South Quad while he was on his way to athletes dining room. He said thank you.
BOOM ANECDOTED. Case closed.
Edit: booo no idea how this got replied to your comment. It was supposed to go somewhere else.
I wasn't aware that one good deed replaces a trend of questionable behavior. Pacman, Feagin, Demar, leaving WVU, practice times, etc...
Pacman didn't have problems until the NFL. In fact RR kept him clean at WVU (same goes for Chris Henry, if you want to go there). Leaving a job for a destination you consider a step up is part of the business, get over it.
And the way he left WVU was such a smooth process.
When he shredded all of the players' financial records, grade records, and scholarship records. Of which there was only one copy. Which the University kept in RichRod's office. In hard copy.
I heard he also shredded their birth certificates, passports, and childhood artwork.
Or refusing to pay the buyout, which was IN HIS CONTRACT
Yeah, that was the team of Michigan lawyers, not Rich Rod.
Oh, my bad. Not Rodriguez's fault at all. Wasn't his decision to not pay the buyout or anything.
Hey, the first factual correct statement you've made on this thread! Give yourself a pat on the back.
Hey mgoblue1, its God...he says YOU SUCK.
Can you stop talking my neg button is over heating because of you
You must feel like a badass
Lloyd had players beating up nerds for no reason and masturbating into windows. Lloyd is obviously a sexual deviant.
Dorsey was arrested for breaking and entering. That is one event. Plus he was acquitted, so doesn't even count. Feagin had no problems before coming to U-M with the law.
Oh sorry man! I didn't know Dorsey's problems were only from ONE event. Breaking and entering. No big deal. Come on up to the University of Michigan
He was ACQUITTED, so he didn't get convicted of a crime. And if you would kindly read your last post, you said multiple crimes. I see no multiple crimes.
"Or bringing in a kid with multiple criminal problems".... Never mentioned convictions... Plenty of people are never convicted, doesn't make it right to bring him into U-M just because he can play football
You said multiple criminal problems, find me a guy he brought in with MULTIPLE criminal problems.
The only way your attack here even approaches legitimacy is if you make the case that Rodriguez harmfully prioritizes W/L over the moral direction of players under his wing. But do you have any evidence at all (*ANY*) that Rodriguez is at all apathetic about the moral behavior of players while they're under his wing? This is an entirely different question than that of whether 2nd chances are warranted for juvenile offenders.
Kids do lots of stupid and illegal dumb shit. I'm sure you did your fair share of illegal stuff in high school, but didn't get caught.
Yea, and LC NEVER brought any kids into UM with questionable pasts. Hilarious how you dicks want to string RR up by his short hairs for recruiting demar dorsey, while forgetting all the legal troubles UM players have had in the past under LC.
By "multiple criminal problems" you must mean Pat Lazear, honor student at West Virginia. What a dick you have to be to give a kid a second chance. He'd be better off without a degree, no doubt about that.
Nope. By multiple criminal problems I certainly meant Mr. Demar Dorsey
Ah, of course. And I'm sure you know for a fact that Dorsey, unlike Lazear, is a lost cause. So if Dorsey is hopeless, what's your explanation for Lazear, then?
And I suppose you're equally upset over the NCAA violations Lloyd Carr committed? (See: Marcus Ray, Artis Chambers and - in all likelihood - Charles Woodson.) And I can't imagine how distraught you must have been over the many players who were arrested under Lloyd's watch. (Remember K-Martgate? The stripper purse-snatching shenanigans? The St. Patrick's Day Nerd Roundup?) Or do you only get mad when these things happen under the watch of a coach with a Southern accent?
Pity, but I predict your post will be never be responded to by the RR haters.....it seems they don't like factual counterarguments.
It's very difficult to get mad or think negatively about Lloyd because he was such an amazing guy. Very seldom are there old coaches that people truly hate. Maybe Bowden but look at JoePa. It's always easier to complain about the young ruffians and their RAWK music.
Die in a fire.
Edit: this didn't thread correctly.
the fact that RR has more NCAA allegations to his name than wins in the recent past. How are those maize colored glasses treating you?
sad that I will probably get neg-banged for this too
2005- 11 wins
2006- 11 wins
2007- 10 wins
2008- 3 wins
2009- 5 wins
So unless RR has 40 NCAA allegations to his name, I find your claim highly offensive.
How about those last 2 years... Impressive
the claim any less true? Didn't think so.
because up until 2007 we rarely if ever had NCAA accusations surrounding the football team. We were a respected program in 49 states and not the laughing stock that we are now.
Outside of Columbus and EL, I'm pretty sure most think better times are ahead.
And still, 5 potential violations =/= 40 wins.
I would think that outside of Ann Arbor, most think that the Michigan football program is a laughing stock
