I am drunk. I am watching The Game from last year on the DVR. I am pretty sure my girlfriend is going to hate me tomorrow when I am hungover on her Mom's couch for another turkey dinner while I watch M battle O in the Shoe. It's fucking The Game day! Go Blue!
It's The Game Day!
Go Blue. I am right there with you. Tomorrow morning is the one day that I can go out drinkin and due to nerve and hope, I will be bring eyed and bushy tailed at 7 am.
4 pitchers = bring eyed
THEN DRINK MORE
FUCK OHIO! GO BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's to a W.
it feels like Christmas right now
Can't sleep either. I'm starting to really get the nerves. Does anyone else think like me in that, I'm sittting here realizing how nervous I get for my team to play a huge game, then I think about about the people who are actually going to be playing or involved in the game, and end up thinking to myself, "You hot mess, get over yourself, the God D*mn players are probably sound asleep, in good spirits, and you're acting like the end of the world is near". Anyone? Just me? Can't help it though. I am a nervous nelly in these late hours.
I will admit I'm still a bit bummed about the Nebraska game. I think it has to do with how the game went down and how close Iowa was to pulling off the upset, that makes it a bit more unsettling; the game in 8.5 hours could have been much more important. It's still important and it's still Ohio, I fully understand. I'm not sayin' I'm just sayin'...DAMMIT IOWA.
WHY CAN'T I SLEEP?
Because you're a pineapple. Pineapples don't sleep.
Also. Beat Ohio!
It's The Game day!!
This is Christmas for me. When you grow up certain things lose their luster like the actual Christmas, birthdays, and pro sports, but THE GAME is always special. It brings me back to a young boy watching this game with my dad. It's about good versus evil and right versus wrong. I can't freaking wait. Go Blue!
well said. Today is one of the few days I wake up giddy as a schoolboy at 6 am and don't even want to go back to sleep.
"It's about good versus evil and right versus wrong."
Yep, that sums it up. We play a lot of schools that we don't like and the feeling is mutual. But when we play Ohio, it really does have the feel of something more than just a game. Our guys aren't playing just for us or the university. For this game, they are a symbol. They are a representation of what is right and good. Not just because we are Michigan. But because they are Ohio. The ideology they perpetuate is a blight and darkness on sports and education. Because we are playing them today, we are good. There is no other way to define the opponent of evil.
Is so excited about The Game that he refuses to sleep.
Is his name Bo or Brady? Either one would be great. Go Blue!
How's Team 141's pad level looking?
Congrats again. Hope you're buckled up for a hell of an 18-year roller-coaster ride. It's going to be unforgettable.
Also, don't forget to document all the 'firsts', and as much of the incredibly cute stuff as you can. It's tough to remember to do this when you're exhausted, but times flies and they grow up fast.
The kid's now 2 days old and this is team 133. So, by my math, team 141 is eight years from now and BiSB jr will be 8. Kid must be one heckuva playa and developed way beyond his years! No one tell Kiffin, otherwise he'll extend an offer soon.
It's the New Math.
Or, what happens when you try to do simple arithmetic before having had your morning caffeine. Seriously, I checked and double-checked my work before I posted and that's what I came up with.
On the bright side, I'd imagine an 8 year old's pad level would indeed be low.
"So, by my math..." - but, but, but the kid is two now, so in eight years he will be TEN.
Either your math sucks or you mis-typed it. Your first thought was mine too though. BISB's son will play on team 149 or 150?
Actually, I think it's "Blue NOT in South Bend" now, but Kelly will still try to recruit the lad.
My math doesn't suck (maybe your reading does?) and it wasn't a typo -- The kid is 2 DAYS old, not 2 years old.
Is he hammered yet?
BiSB jr drinks and burps alot, is often a little groggy, sleeps at all kinds of weird times and can't make it to the student section on time. He'll fit right in.
into tears a number of times, starting at a very early age, by jumping up and screaming over big plays during Michigan games. I think I might have f'd her up a little. Now she makes me promise not to yell when she brings her rats in to play on the bed during games.
Just a little fatherly advice.
EDIT: Congratulations, by the way! My daughter has brought me worlds of happiness. She cried when the Michigan women lost their NCAA round of 16 soccer match to PSU on PKs, so I am not doing everything wrong, I guess.
Congratulations. Last year I was standing in the Big House last year with my son and daughter, both EECS students, watchin UM beat Ohio. Pproud to be a Wolverine, proud to be a husband of a Wolverine, and proud to be the father of 2 Wolverines May you also be so lucky.
Congrats. My 4 year old is ready for a day of football.
Awesome, your first The Game with your son. Ill always remember mine. Its Game Day!!! GO Blue!!!
Oh and i cant freaking sleep either!! ....Oh yeah, Im working. Thats why.
Twas the night before The Game, when all through the house.....
"This is it, don't get scared now."
Is up late watching Home Alone.
Haha. I always think of that quote on big days. Nice catch.
"I'm not apologizing to Buzz, I'd rather kiss a toilet seat"
hopefully someone else had to sit through all three toy story movies on disneyXD yesterday!
I am up, makers mark in the coffee, brother and father on the way over, time to whoop us some buckeyes!!!!
Seriously, if we win today I am going to cry; I really don't think we will, I'd say we have a 45% chance, maybe less. But if we can score touchdowns, and avoid field goals, we will be good!
Must fill 6 hours with something. I never wish time away, but someone can have these next six hours. I want it to be kickoff. Go Blue!
Here for Tgiving. Thinking about a last minute trip to Columbus. Ticket prices are falling on stubhub. Anyone know where the Michigan sections will be?
I'm sitting in Section 8, which I think is at least part of the Michigan section.
I can't take this stress. I need game to start or I may puke. Please, please beat Ohio.
Been up since 6. Didn't sleep much too amped up. I gotta good feeling about today. GO BLUE! beat oh*o
I can't wait. Drove over 400 miles to watch it in my home town with friends. Getting ready to crack open the first beer.
I am supposed to be cooking the weekend's final Thanksgiving meal (third out of three, yes) during the first half, so I hope everyone likes dry turkey and blackened scalloped potatoes with singed pie, because I may not be able to concentrate fully for some reason.
GO BLUE! BEAT OHIO!
I've decided to spend the morning boating. Thank God it's a noon start!
Game Day. Go Blue. Beat Ohio.
the world's best submarine sandwich to eat at half time.
First thing my 5 year old son says this morning: Beat Ohio!
Go Blue! Beat Ohio!
I have a few things to do today, I'm not sure if it will make the waiting better, or worse.
