Can't argue that.  But you lost to Weis, so theres that.

Don't forget the 47-20 game as well.  We also had you 36-20 and in 1943 it was 35-12.

(Don't try too hard fellas, I have thick skin and its good natured fun on this great game week)

Well, it isn't much of a rivalry.

How could one expect him to be worked up?

In that case only 2 programs

In that case only 2 programs aren't  "regional programs" let's face it ND didn't want to join because of the cash, they're greedy but at least there is Texas to challenge them, now you've got to play Duke and Wake Forest as the conference changes will force some teams to squeeze ND out of their schedules.

You have to take care of your

You have to take care of your conference before you can worry about more, generally speaking.  So when the goal is the Rose Bowl, that doesn't mean we don't want to play for a MNC, it just means take care of the conference first and let everything else shake out.

Also I'm curious, are you personally (and your impression of other Notre Dame fans) excited to see the likes of Duke, UNC, and Wake Forest take the schedule instead of Michigan?  I understand that Clemson and Florida State may be highlights when they occaisonally make the schedule, but aside from the top couple teams in the ACC there isn't much there.

The worst part is,

There is a clause in the ND contract that says they can't play 2 of VT, Clemson, or Florida State in the same year..

"I wanna play the shitty ACC teams, not the good ones"

Keep on keepin on Notre Dame

Yah because you play PennSt,

Yah because you play PennSt, Wisconsin & Nebraska every year with MSU and OSU.  The ACC is no better or worse than the BIG.  But our OOC slate won't include teams like AppSt and the directional Michigan schools.

Ok, come on now.  B10 >>

Ok, come on now.  B10 >> ACC.  That will only become more true as Michigan returns to where they usually are, as well as PSU.  Clemson, Miami, FSU, and VaTech vs. OSU, UM, PSU, Wisco, Nebraska.  Throw in MSU and Northwestern and sometimes Iowa and it's not even that close.

And I love America as much as anyone, but Navy is a cupcake.  App St. that year would have beat them.  Purdue?  Sure, they aren't the true baby seals of the world.  But they're basically name-brand cupcakes.  The Hostess of the cupcake world.  They look better and will give you a bit of a fight, but in the end it's still a double-digit spread.

Gardner doesn't eat squirrels

Gardner doesn't eat squirrels and other small animals and doesn't have sharp claws or teeth.  Nor do most of Team 134, note I said "most".  But I won't hold it against an actual Wolverine.

I do reserve judgement on Hoke though.

Correct, Gardner doesn't eat squirrels.

He eats bears and wolves.

This clip never gets old!

They knew what was about to happen at 23 seconds!  The comments are priceless!  "He's a poor thrower!"

Denard must love to watch this as well.

What a sweet victory it was!

Go Blue!

On this holiday, Bo Schembechler used to tell his team, "Men, it's Labor Day, and we're going to celebrate...By laboring!"

Also, looking over RSS feed and Kelly claims ND rivalry with Michigan is not historic. Yeah, okay man.

To hell with Notre Dame!

I actually despise them more than that school down south.  Losses to them suck worse for me than losses to other rivals.  I ALWAYS root for ND to lose (which thankfully they do a lot) and I typically root for any BIG team against nonconference foes.  The OSU program may be extremely shady and has too many players tending toward thugs, but the ND program and players are smarmy, whiny, privileged, pampered and thoroughly overrated.  Here's hoping for another 38-0 rout this year.  This string of nail biters has gone on too long.

Back when I was walking

Back when I was walking across your lawn, ND was who we really wanted to beat. Ohio was pretty close to being just another win. Both programs are now important wins, but for different reasons. Times have changed. ND seems like a game we shouldn't lose and OSU becomes the benchmark because of their talent, recruiting base and national stature. It's time to let ND go back to playing the Duke's, Purdue's and Virginia's of college football. That's how their myth was built. Just as ours was built as a perennial top-ten program that annually played its most important game in late November. It all worked. Hell with those chicken shits.

I would expect a  lot of run

I would expect a  lot of run initially and then the Rees air raid will be on.

But seriously we rolled out to a 14-0 lead and went into cruise control.  Kelly has never been one to run up scores (protip: if ND is favoured by a lot, take the points you'll win a great a great clip).  I was a little concerned with the defense but that Temple QB is a good player.

Rees tossed 350 yards with a 70% completion rate (typical Tommy over/under throws) but looked pretty surgical. 3TDs and 0 turn overs, I'll take it.

Honestly I can't say what to expect, this game is so close year after year (aside from the 38-0 abberations) which is why I hate that its going away.

Thanks for the fan's view.

Thanks for the fan's view.  Ignore the chumps here - very fans base has them, I am afraid.

I don't like Notre Dame, but concede that, other than being over-rated and enjoying it, the school/team does things right.  I always hope to see them undefeated except at the hands of Michigan (unlike, say, MSU, which I hope loses every game).  That will change after M stops playing you guys, though - then I will hope you drop every game, like I hope any top competitor that we don't play does.

I'm sorry to see this series disappear, and sorry that ND cancelled it in such a manner - the latter because it just makes it harder to restart.  I can't say that I blame ND for cancelling, though.  They had to cancel one of their "traditional" games, and the Michigan one was the one that paid off the least to play.

In seriousness, I didn't watch your game.  How did you guys go for almost 550 yards and only score 28 points?  I didn't notice any turnovers on your side so that can't be it.

Missed 2 FGs, our special teams look to be horrid again but I did see something I haven't seen in 4 years under Kelly, a punt return!  Yes we had ZERO turn overs.  The game really should have been something in the 40s.  Reminded me of the USF game a few years back.  over 500 yards of offense but couldn't score to save our lives.

I visited NDs campus this summer. It is awful. You can see all the tradition. But every building is the same boring color brick and there is no real town to go with the campus. It was a dud of a campus. Everything at that school is built up on hype.

Beat the Irish!

PAYBACK!!!

The Irish did not deserve the record that they had last year and they don't deserve the ranking they have this year.  They got exposed by a dominant team and looked slow and weak in the National Championship game.

I like our team at home with our defense to rush the QB and gash their defense for points.  Funchess, Dileo, Gallon (of course), Norfleet, T. Gordon, Countess, and R. Taylor will play hero manball.  If our offensive line gives Gardner some time and a pocket, we will score enough points and put pressure on Rees to make plays.

Do I think we are a much better team than the Irish?  YEAH.  I just hope the team holds it together and our game plan is a winning one.

GO BLUE - Beat the Irish

So wait a minute... We both lost to a common opponent, jail sex'd is the word I would use.  Except you lost 4 more games.  Yet ND had one of the best defenses in the nation against one of the tougher schedules and doesn't deserve their ranking?  LOLWUT?

LOLWUT!?! Haha...ummm dude,

LOLWUT!?! Haha...ummm dude, "tougher schedule" is a joke. At the beginning of 2012, most CFB analyst and fans would have given you that one. By the end of last season you played no better than a mediocre BIG schedule.

Seriously, you went 12-0. Lucky or not, that's is an accomplishment; but to not have the sense to recognize that despite your 12-0 record, you had no business in the MNCG. It was the system. And playing Bama, well, and getting crushed was an embarrassment. We are still disappointed by our loss to Bama, but it wasn't on the biggest stage or the biggest college football game of the year.

to argue with a phork.

Huge game Saturday. Would love to see UM with three tight ends, Gallon, Norfleet, Fitz and Green get it going. The cherry would be a grinding, clock consuming ground game, with an occasional Chesson post for the score(s). Monday daydreaming, ahhhh....
