item: Kaleb Ringer issues
I got a tip that Kaleb Ringer had gotten the boot from his high school team for disciplinary reasons, and this appears to be true. He's had a recurring issue that was finally too much and he's gotten axed. I don't know if this will change his status as a Michigan commit, but if he decommits at some point in the near future that would be why.
[UPDATE:BISB: Sam Webb just tweeted that Kaleb was not booted. Just sitting with a sprained knee. The plot thickens.]

I see your point, our depth is much more concerning at other positions of need. Although I believe the LBs can really make or break a defense.
I hope its not true about Ringer either, he was one of the first commits this year and looked like a good hard-nosed kid.

Holy hell I can't believe we burned Hawthorne's redshirt.

Same could be said for too many players under RR

Hawthorne came in at 6' 181 lbs!!!

Despite losing Kellen. we are going to have 13 LBs on scholarship next year. If Ringer doesn't make it that leaves 12 which is a 4 deep. How much depth do you want? A four deep at LB versus DT means give me another DT.

How this plays out soon. I think we'll be fine if the coaches take away his offer though. Best of luck to him.

Well, if this is true, let's look at it this way:
The coaches can replace Ringer with Yuri Wright, and then move Marvin Robinson to the WLB position for the next two years.

Might be the reason they've offered Levenberry recently as well...

Levenberry's a 2013 recruit...

My bad, for some reason I thought he was 2012...

If Ringer goes, maybe we'd consider slotting Ojemudia in as an OLB and grabbing another D-lineman?
October 21st, 2011 at 11:04 PM ^
I don't know why the departure of Ringer would signify a change in position for Ojemudia.

Where do you see Ojemudia playing in college?

Speculation is a terrible thing. That's all I have to say. This kid is EXCITED about coming to Michigan and he can't wait to get here. He's a great person, and I don't think anything is going to come of this.

If there's one guy who's going to be left out of this recruiting class, my pick would be Ringer. So this isn't necessarily bad news.

Unnecessary comment Magnus. Ringer was one of our first commits and Im excited to have him join the team next year.

Congratulations. I'm not that excited about him.
Opinions differ. Welcome to the world.

Yay! A Friday bear dong punch.
Is there another linebacker out there to replace him?

According to this article in the Dayton Daily News (http://www.daytondailynews.com/dayton-sports/high-school-sports/wayne-s…) Ringer's team, Northmont lost it's 10/21 game. Did anyone reading this attend the game? If so, was Ringer on the Northmont sideline?

According Sam Webb a few minutes ago:
#Michigan commit Kaleb Ringer has NOT been kicked off of his high school team. He has missed the last few games with a sprained knee.
Not sure who or what to believe but I definitely trust Sam Webb
