It gets better

While many of us are still upset about yesterday's loss, I think I know the perfect thing to cheer people up... Recruiting!!!

Let's start off with basketball. I don't know if you guys heard, but a man named Mitch McGary committed to Michigan. He is projected to be the number 3 pick in the 2013 NBA draft, while THJ is projected to go 6th. http://www.nbadraft.net/2013mock_draft Very few programs have had two top 6 picks in the NBA draft, and this would show future recruits that Michigan is the gateway to the NBA.

Now on to the 2012 football recruiting class.

Stefon Diggs-Last week he tweeted with Blake Countess (his good friend) about going to Michigan and seemed genuinely interested. Then a few days later he tweeted "that deserves a GO BLUE" and "hey michigan ...". Upon speculation that he had committed he said "NO COMMITMENT HERE . STILL OPEN BUT APPRECIATE ALL THE NEW LOVE... MICHIGAN ... Go Blue", "make sure every decision you make you can live with and stick with.. if its something you have to think twice about . shouldnt do it  ", and "dont think im michigan material just yet , i have alot of potential though .. in the end will make me nothing but a better man". He definitely has a lot of interest in Michigan and now that the coaches are pursuing him again, we have a good shot. Not to mention that Shane Morris is also recruiting him to Michigan.

Yuri Wright- He has constantly said that Michigan is either his leader or in his top group. He is visiting for the OSU game. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/12776…

Other WRs- Rivals has a free article that covers the other WR targets. http://michigan.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1288594

 And the 2013 recruiting class

Shaq Wiggins- He has a Michigan offer. He has maintained that Michigan is his leader and he is visiting for the OSU game. So far he has 9 INTs this year.

LaQuon Treadwell- He has had an amazing year and was named the Chicago player of the week last week. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/high-school/post/_/id/2049/crete-monees…; Before this week, he had 61 receptions for 1,230 yards and 17 touchdowns. In their playoff loss yesterday, he had 14 receptions for 161 yards and a touchdown. Right now, it seems as if Michigan is his leader.

Laremy Tunsil- The big offensive tackle received a Michigan offer last week. He is a five star on 247 and an early 4 star on scout. Earlier this year he said Michigan was in his top 3 and he really wanted an offer from them. http://247sports.com/Player/Laremy-Tunsil-7189

Thats a real good point. Why else would he go to a game ND vs USC... after watching Michigan trump ND in one of the craziest games this season, and after he had already been commited to USC... and just instantly have ND his lead.

...I mean unless the campus just wowwed him, or something than this is probably big for him.

Imagine a Christian school kid being wooed by ND.  So he saw us beat ND in one of the crazy atmospheres in CFB.  He also saw ND lose to the school he was formally committed to in a much lamer version of the exact same atmosphere as ND tried to copy UTL.  The only thing that could have them tied is the chance to play back home or the fact that he is a WR and ND throws the ball all over the place.

Yeah another solid point, I was wondering if he want to a Christian HS and ND does like to slang the ball. In all honesty, when I see Jordan Payton I think Michael Floyd. (Who knows if he will have the same production Floyd has had through out his college career or drinking issues but you know how you just do that with recruits?) Maybe its my gut, but even sense the night game visit, when I close my eyes, I see Jordan Payton playing on NBC in the white Notre Dame jersey.

..we will see, I would love him at UM, him and diggs would be a lights out combo. Not to mention Pharoh Brown... he will be on offense for us, watch.

I'm not sure how much the religious angle matters.  Oaks Christian is a non-denominational (which basically means Protestant) school, while ND is of course Catholic.  If you are, say, Baptist, a Catholic university may not appeal to you.

Getting McGary in BB and Diggs in FB would be SO awesome. Two top ten recruits in the main two college sports, when is the last time michigan has done that?

For some reason (maybe it was suffering through the past 3 or the M Daily stories), I hate losing because it hurts the current players/ seniors. I know that no matter how sad I am after a loss, Denard, Touss, Martin, RVB, and Co. are sadder and more pissed off and that's the issue. The future guys that may come to M are fine and I'll "love" them as well, but I'm thiking of the current roster.

Nothing like a little reassuring (good) recruiting news to brighten up an otherwise depressing weekend. It would be great to have the "problem" of deciding which of these fine athletes is deserving of the final few spots in this class.

I have no doubt the future is bright for Michigan. In the present- Al Borges, just let Denard loose. I don't give a shit this year, I want them to to play with reckless abandonment. Like we have nothing to lose. Denard is thinking too much because it's what he's being coached to do. He plays the best when he "just plays". You remember the first time he took a snap? Fumbled the snap. Had nothing to lose on the play and then just scored touchdown. That's who he is.

Come on, really?  That first TD was awesome, but it was against WMU who had no idea who Denard was or what he was capable of.

Sometimes when he "just plays" awesome things happen, but other times he tries to escape a sack and fumbles, throws the ball over someone's head for a pick, or gets his shit wrecked and sits out the rest of the game.

I'm not saying I don't like a little Denard improv, but letting him "just play" is not the answer.

...not sure if you are commenting to me or not. But I was being sarcastic. The "just play" arguement comes up in all sports, and it doesn't make sense, I still don't even know what it really means.

As if football isn't a sport of non-stop planning and preperation, and you want to through the "let him play line" out there.

lose all of our games.  Just as long as the team continues with their great effort I will enjoy watching them!

I'm hoping for two more wins, which I think we have a good shot at with the B1G being down.
