Speight not being ready for the moment was the difference. If he just makes one of those deep throws for a touchdown, it's a totally different game that we probably win. We know he has good deep ball touch. So he was just feeling the game pressure tonight.

Pass blocking was average at best. Run blocking was atrocious. Jaleel Johnson finished with 9 tackles. I know he's good, but DT's are not supposed to get 9 tackles in a game. 3 or 4 maybe, but 9?!? We only had 35 rushing attempts. You're telling me a DT gets 9 tackles out of 35 rushing plays, but Speight's passing is the thing holding back this team? Cumong, man. We finished with 2.8 YPC against Iowa.

There were numerous plays tonight where I saw our linemen not block anybody. It wasn't a case of targeting the wrong defender to block, they just didn't block anybody, period. Guys were just running around on the field wondering who to block.

Meanwhile, Iowa's DBs had 6 BrUps. That means Speight was accurate enough for their DBs to make plays on the ball. I didn't see our WRs going up to contest any of those 6 BrUps. Darboh is a solid WR, but he only had 1 catch for 5 yards today. King took him out of the game. We let Iowa's two solid players, Johnson and King totally disrupt our offense. But blame Speight if it makes you feel better.

uninspired, no? Some uncanny sh*t with the 1985 games, though. How is that even possible? Same day, 2,3,4 losing, doing it on a field goal--was it the same score?

From ESPN:

"According to FPI's pregame predictions, there was a 5 percent chance that at least two top-four teams would lose Saturday, and a 0.3 percent chance at least three would go down. It's worth noting that FPI had the games slightly closer than the Las Vegas line in three of the four games, so the implied Las Vegas percentage would be even more extreme."

Play today. Speight will have PTSD and we're more full of holes than swiss cheese at a shooting range. Speight was off, and he wasn;t helped by the playcalling. His receivers tried to baile him out, but why all the aggressive downfield shots when you need to RUN! THE! FUCKING! BALL!

Alot of idiots in this post....understand frustration but doubting the coaching staff or this teams exceptionalism is pathetic...hard place to win and we didn't have it today
