Osu will kill this team in Columbus. Anyone who thinks Jim Harbaugh is a better coach than Nick Saban or Urban Meyer can kick rocks. Kirk fucking Ferentz beat this team.

rough one all around.  the staff was outcoached and the players outplayed.  not many dudes played at or even close to their standard level of play and it unfortunately impacted the outcome.  and the staff had issues in all phases.  scheme, gameplan, failure to break tendency, some odd calls, ineffective / poor adjustments (both in-game and during break), etc - the staff obviously lost this battle, at least overall.

but its a team game, thats the beauty of it.  review tape and get back to work, and im sure they will, with a healthy attitude

This team beat itself. Wilton Speight had been great at times, but man did he suck tonight. He personally took 21 points off the board by missing WRs that were 5-10 yards behind the entire defense. What's Harbaugh supposed to do, go out there and throw the ball himself? He put the team in a position to win, we didn't execute.

This argument is ridiculous on its face. Nick Saban got his shit pushed in while coaching in the NFL....but he's a better coach than Harbaugh? Coaches can only do so much. Jim put us in a position to win tonight, Wilton couldn't make a throw to save his life. That's it. There's also a reason NFL teams aren't knocking down Urban Meyers door but they are willing to pay Harbaugh 10+ million a year this offseason. And it's not because Kirk fucking Ferentz is a better coach. You can put your team in a position to succeeed, but it's up to the players to execute.

From the preview.

Cheap Thrills

Worry if...

Iowa corrects its mistakes from the Penn State game and breaks a lot of tendencies productively.
Ferentz does that thing he does where he only makes correct game theory decisions against Michigan.
OSU fans are right and home field advantage is actually worth 40 points.

Welp...

But he hesitates through the hole. That shouldn't have been a safety if he just put his head down and ran hard. Instead he put the breaks on...in the end zone....I knew as soon as we gave up that safety we were in real trouble. Luckily we still control our destiny if we win out. We still make the playoff and can win a NT if we get our head out of our ass. But Wilton has to play much, much better to end the year.

The plays were there. Speight just couldn't hit anything at all. He had 3 relatively open guys on TDs and couldn't connect on any of them. I do think you could argue that we should've run more and some things are becoming predictable (McDoom runs, Pepcat, etc). Ultimately we had plenty of opportunities to win last night but couldn't get out of our own way.
