I don't think Denard could. Victory formation is run under-center, and I imagine that's probably difficult to run with one hand.
Fortunately, there was still something special that M could do to honor a different senior on the last snap.

It looked like he wanted to go out there but the strength coach held him back. Give to Kennedy, not a totally undeserving dude.
This. Imagine if his last play is a fumbled victory snap.
Let Kennedy have it.
Also, as for the OT guy on top, the SEC is untouchable. Pundits are barely mentioning it and even explaining it in an apologist tone. Pathetic. It's a padded win nobody talks about. They already all schedule schools you've never heard of early but due to some technical schedule thingy they all get a free win in. UMASS is one thing. Hillsburgh Valley Tech?!? LOL
Good move to let Kennedy have the last snap this week. Hope is saving the kneel down next week for Denard.
Denard isn't the only senior on this team and you could argue that Kennedy deserved it more. His position on this team doesn't allow for playing time unless something disasterous happens or the game is beyond being out of hand and bet your ass he works just as hard as everyone else.
On top of that, Denard is the kind of guy that even if they would have sent him out I could easily see him ask for Kennedy to take his place. Dude is classy like that!!

Only by severely dancing around reality and ignoring most typical definitions of what it is to deserve something could you argue that Jack Kennedy deserved to take the last snap over Denard.

It is not uncommon for guys that never play to get some snaps in garbage time of a game. It is also not uncommon for a senior backup quarterback to see some snaps on senior day, especially with the game completely in hand. No one is ever going to look back on Michigan football and forget about Denard. Giving Jack Kennedy a kneel down in his last game at home probably means a whole lot to a guy who has stuck it out through the coaching transitions and bad football but doesn't get the press that other guys do. So yeah, as far as Hoke, the other seniors, and the rest of this team are concerned (and it really is all about the team) Kennedy deserved that kneel down. His parents deserved to see him get that kneel down. The fans deserved to see him take the last snap, albeit a useless snap, in his last home game ever. Stars like Denard have their time, give the role players and backups their time as well.
Nice dancing moves! Yes invoke Jack Kennedy's family over the very face of the program for the last three years! Well done

Your post to me argues that in fact he deserved it less, but would enjoy it more.

No it doesn't. It probably meant a lot to Kennedy and he would enjoy it more, and that's WHY he deserved it. That's also probably why it was given to him. Hoke clearly felt Kennedy deserved the last snap of the game or he wouldn't have gotten it.
Senior Day isn't about recognizing how talented the top players are. Today is a day to step back and recognize the incredible fortitude it takes to spend four or five years putting blood sweat and tears into Michigan football, and Kennedy did that just as well as Denard did. I don't think it hurts anyone to give Kennedy this honor, and I certainly don't think people will judge Denard's career by taking or not taking a victory formation snap in a 42-10 blowout.

Dude I don't disagree, I don't really care that much to be honest. All I said was, I think it's clownish to argue that in some sense, Jack Kennedy DESERVES it more. Letting him get the final snap is fine by me on multiple levels, but one of them is not that he somehow deserves it more. That's stupid

is still my favorite player.
I do it for my love of the Streets
I think Brian Griese has an mgoblog account.
Also, Denard's 16 should be a legends number and he will always be number one in my heart.
IT...DG has a lot. He was seriously toying around out there making plays. Can't wait to see how he responds in the horseshoe.
If I say a duck can pull a truck, shut up and hook the sucka up!
Agree. He looked like he wasn't even trying, which is how the truly great ones play.
If you don't ride a camel, you ain't shi'ite.
Ah yes, reminds me of Chauncy, Rip, Tay, and Sheed in their latter years with the Pistons. So talented, and yet they made it appear they were just sauntering around the court at their leisure, sulking around the three-point line, completing giving up on defense when things stopped going their way. Bitching at the coach.
Truly great ones, them. Indeed.

It ain't easy being cheesy
Very pleasantly surprised that they're getting Denard on the field in other ways.
Feel terrible for Fitz... And Ouch!
I totally told a friend earlier this week that I'd like to see Denard utilized in that fashion. As long as he can hold the ball, he's really one of the scariest players out there and our only credible rushing threat.
Parents are U of M grads. Earned my BS at Purdue. Both the fight songs I know by heart start with Hail.
OT I guess no one's going to talk about the SEC teams pretty much only playing 1AA schools this week. If a different conference did that it would be discussed how pathetic it was. Thoughts?
They discussed this during the game. No need to be that guy. They start conference play earlier. The teams wanted to do rival games this week and then have a week off before the title game and the conference said no.
@2GuysFromWI
So they get a free pass because conference play starts earlier and they have rivalry games next week but people can spew crap about MAC-tion weekend in September and then it turns out the MAC is pretty good?
I don't agree. They deserve to have shit talked about them because the only one doing anything like a top-10 team is Alabama.
Intensity is a lot of guys that run fast.
The only difference between the SEC and everyone else is that they save one cupcake for late in the year and everyone else gets them all out of the way early. It makes absolutely no difference in overall schedule strength.
When we were playing UMass, Florida was playing Texas A&M. Now we're playing conference games and they get Eastern-Northwest-State-Tech-College. It all evens out.
Hell more conferences should try it. A, you spread out the conference slate. B, early conference games is better than watching cupcakes, more people will watch
If you're doing nothing, how do you know when you're finished?
Can we also give Borges a lot of credit for getting Denard involved and contributing even though he obviously wasn't 100%? I think that Borges called a pretty good game (hopefully this is a sign of things to come next year).

I get it's 3 low teams, but his 190.2 would be number one by a long shot. Mariota leads at 176 among those who qualify. (Don't know about others who don't have the minimum number of games.)

Don't mock them. They may be the best 5-6 team in the country. Or at least you'd have to include them in the conversation if you're ever having a discussion about the best 5-6 teams out there.

I would like to say that Devin Gardner once again makes me feel very confident about 2013 with a 12/18 performance for 314 passing yards and 3 TDs in the air, as well as 9 carries for 37 yards and 3 rushing TDs. Another great game from Gardner.
To add to that, in three games, he has gone 46/70 for 834 yards with 7 TDs and 3 INTs. If he qualified for the NCAA leaderboard, I believe he would now be #1. Even if it is three bad teams, it is an impressive performance for a player who was not even practicing with the QBs a month ago. The six rushing TDs are a great bonus too. He is indeed "formidable", to use Borges' word.
I did enjoy that they found a way to get Denard Robinson not only in the offense but in a way where he was still highly effective. He ends the day with 13 carries for 98 yards, including a great 40 yard run.

Brady Hoke trolling opportunity by declaring that Denard will start only to play him at RB.
Avatar is a reference to this. Go Blue!
We would have had Devin @ QB & DR @ slot all season?
I think Borges would have shown better play call creativity with DR still having put up crazy numbers.
Either way: I am glad DR was in the field. Now lets go beat Ohio

I am sad that Denard didn't get the last snap. Seems crappy to have him watch the end on the sidelines, one of the greatest running QBs ever
Not that Jack Kennedy didn't deserve it...but it's Denard
