the rim and tip to Albrecht. Great effort by an undermanned team which kept Iowa from shooting threes and fast break points until late.

Stauskas was daggers but the big lift came from Irvin who had his second double digit performance. Great win, great win.

Three top ten games in a row is brutal, but this is the best start possible. Random: someone needs to tell young Mitch that a spread collar like that requires a much more substantial knot than the puny four in hand. I'd go full Windsor for that shirt collar.

Great game and great effort and win by the team!

Also is it just me or did it sound like the one announcer (not sure which one) kept calling us Missagain? If he has a speech impediment I apologize but that is what it sounds like he calls us, very annoying.

Beilein's staff in the most recent episode of Inside Michigan basketball said that the players know they've earned the right to be confident even though they also are taught to respect each and every opponent.

MSU is very good, but Michigan should feel like it can get a win.  Michigan has beaten three of the other top four teams in the B1G with two of those wins on the road (at MN and at Wisc).

MSU has only beaten one of the other top four teams (MN) in East Lansing in overtime.

Very nice indeed.

One of the most important aspects of the game? We slowed Iowa down to 10 less possessions than they would normally see on average, not to mention we held them to a significantly lower points per possesion number than normal. As with many games in the conference schedule this season, more accurate shooting and limiting Iowa's chances at the line came in handy.

Michigan made 6 more 3's than Iowa and that was the difference. They also shot a higher FT percentage sinking all but two at the line for 13 points while the Hawkeyes were 15 of 21.

It was Michigan's transition defense and offense that made the difference. While the ball screen offense worked to an extent Michigan ball movement and floor spacing made the difference in rebounding and ability to identify Iowa better in the run game. It also gave Michigan a better chance at getting in the paint and kicking when Iowa's defense collapsed on the drivers; Once again, Morgan made a huge contribution on both ends of the floor, and Belein recognized it giving him more time as a result.

They played great D tonight! Every time I said to my TV "they're running get back on D!", the camera would pan and there would be guys already back on D. That didn't happen earlier this season. It was beautiful!

LeVert didn't have his best game, GRIII wasn't hitting his outside shot, and Walton only played 3 minutes due to illness - and Michigan still won!

Great to watch a team that can beat very good competition even when some of your guys have off nights - thank you Coach B!
