I normally don't jump on grammar but the apostrophe before pluralization is a bugaboo for me too. I won't even step into "Fresh Pick's" because of this.

I'm cool with the State of Michigan thing where we make surnames possessives when they're a store moniker, e.g. Meijer's. But not for pluralization. To do that you should have to produce a signed form that proves you are from the 17th century, because that's the last time apostrophizing plurals (and burning witches) were acceptable.

No, not pluralization, but possessive.

I'm down with possessive. I'm going to Kroger's, i.e. the store of Kroger. I'm going to K-Mart's, as in the store of ... er ... Kresge. Whatever -- I know this is a Michigan thing and that we do it when there's absolutely no way it could be a possessive, e.g. Old Navy's (was there a guy named Old Navy? If so he was cool).

What bothers me is apostrophes on plurals. Or worse, on conjugated verbs...

Misopogon hate's these thing's!

I'm on board for the Big 10 becoming the new ultimate power in the universe, but man, whoever did that death star logo spent about 10 seconds on it.  The superlaser looks terrible.  I'd say he used MS Paint, but I don't want to defame our MS Paint Masters we have here.
