Insomnia bears the fruit of yet another video before the game

Submitted by MgoBlueprint on

Unable to sleep for a number of reasons, I decided to make a video. I made one years ago using the inches speech from Any Given Sunday. I figured I'd give it another shot. There have been some great videos posted on here this week. This isn't on the DeMello level, but I'd love to hear what you guys think.

Thanks for the video. I can't sleep either. It's amazing, with everything going on at work, a major family holiday, etc, and all I keep thinking about is this game. I would say this game is easily the biggest game for this program since the 2006 game after Bo died. It simply cannot be understated. A win here could send our team to the playoffs, gain national respect, help enormously with recruiting and get a huge monkey off our backs. Clearly this game has implications that go well beyond this season. Now is the time... Not next year, or 2 years from now. And yet many of us, myself included, are so shell shocked by the last 15 years of this rivalry, that we almost can't imagine us winning. We are focused on the negatives, Speight injury, game in Columbus, poor Iowa/IU performances. Fuck OSU. I believe that we are taking this one... Because I believe we are the better and more experienced team and the better coaches.

In retrospect, I think this is bigger than 2006. Back then, UM and OSU weren't at the level of the elite teams. (That became apparent when the bowls were played.) Now? Alabama is obviously very good, but the Big Ten shouldn't intimidated by it or any other team.

I've watched the BTN special on the 2006 The Game several times since it debuted this week. The pain in Mike Hart's eyes for the way that game ended is precisely how I feel heading into this game. I literally live through every season yearning for The Game. As an Ohio native Michigan fan, the suffering is so much greater after every loss when you have to deal with 365 days of insufferable Buckeyes. Too many of them are family, so you can't just dump their friendship. Also, sports are bigger than life, so I choose to keep many good freindships despite who their fandom lies with. I just want our boys to win this game so badly for my sports happiness!

Some of those hits were unbelievable. Thank you. We are going to win this one even with question mark on QB. The biggest issue we had with OSU over the years was not just that our offense wasn't able to keep up. We did in many games. It was the defense that couldn't figure out that damn spread team. I have a lot of confidence in Don Brown and this defense to contain OSU for years to come and page the way for victories.

I am now fully awake and game ready. Unfortunately I have to wait 48 hours to board the bus for Cbus. You did a great job. Especially on so little rest.

Outstanding work, Blueprint!!!  I loved the song, had never heard that before...

The wait for this game is rivaling the wait for the season to start, it's driving me friggen nuts!!!  Speight or O'Korn, I think Harbaugh will have the offense ready to compete.  The defense will be fine.  GAHHHH!!!!  Can it just start already???

These videos have me pumped up this morning. Mom is at work, and it's me and the kids. My 4 and 2 year old daughters aren't into them quite as much as I am.

Watfching the clips from my era I couldnt help but remember there was a day, not THAT long ao, when beating OSU, in Columbus, wasnt uncommon.  From 1976 to 2000 we went 8-4-1 in Columbus and it's about damn time we brought those days back!

Starting THIS Saturday.

Go Blue - Beat Ohio!

This was unique and excellent!

the Harbaugh sequence... lingering on Harbaurgh zoomed in. Gave me chills. Then the team in the tunnel being held back. Song choice. Pretty fantastic.

Good video. Enjoyed seeing those moments again. I love the mix of play and emotions. It video brings out the fiery nature of this rivalry, perhaps emphasized best by the slow, melodramatic music.

But a quick note. Misspelled or illogical thread titles bother me to an almost(?) irrational degree. The way your title reads now, insomnia mated with another video and gave birth to....something. I'm sure that's not what you mean; I think you mean - "Insomnia bears the fruit of this pregame period, which is another video." Or simply, "Insomnia bears the fruit that is another video."

That things like this get me emotional, but for some reason this year feels like more that just championships are on the line. OSU clearly doesn't respect us anymore. They haven't viewed us as even close to equals in over a decade. A win this Saturday will prove that we deserve respect again. You don't double bird flip a whole stadium of a team you respect. Let's win this damn game.

There's too much respect given these days for my liking... I'm not saying there shouldn't be any. I appreciate what OSU means to us and college football in general. It says something about you as a program when your biggest rival, and maybe the biggest in all of sports is a perennial top 5 powerhouse... And I appreciate moments like when Bo and Woody looked back fondly on the war and each other, or when DG took a knee to check on JT after a season ending injury. But these days it seems like everybody, from coaches to players, are walking on egg shells. Afraid to say something that would be misconstrued as disrespect or for fear that it might be used as bulletin board material. Call it the "Mike Hart Effect" if you will. It's the one small gripe I have about Harbaugh now as a coach, as opposed to his caution to the wind approach he had as the QB all those years ago. Sure, he probably shouldn't be that brash, but I wouldn't mind a happy medium. Not all the PC responses, or actually pulling for them in the CFP 2 years ago. Another example is right there in this video. Multiple players hugging it out after being throttled 42-13 last year. I'm not saying they should fist fight, or be classless in victory or defeat... But it's a BITTER rival for a reason. Stop acting like you just wrapped up a game of yard ball on Thanksgiving Day with nothing on the line.

Maybe I'm wrong or in the minority here. Ah well, wouldn't be the first time.

It's depressing that we don't have more modern day highlights against this team. Fortunately it's only going to take 3 hrs to right all of these past wrongs. Someone in Maize and Blue will emerge as a legend this weekend and I can't wait to find out who it is.

making a video trains the body to be stimulated during night time hours-  FWIW I listen to soft music and fall right asleep
