Inside Michigan Football observations

Submitted by San Diego Mick on

Just got done watching Inside Michigan Football and I was really impressed by the focus and maturity of the team. Denard looks to be throwing the ball really well, he even hit Gallon on an over the shoulder throw against Countess in the corner of the end zone, those were plays Denard has had a hard time making in the past, man if he can hit those passes, we're going to be be one hell of an Offense.

The training they did out here in San Diego was very cool and grueling, trust me when I say that getting on the Coronado Amphibious Base is not easy, I've been on it once for a client meeting cause I get access to Military Bases for my company and it is a special feeling being there. Aaron Wellman is one hell of a guy it seems, he did all the training with them, can I get an EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Wellman?

We are in awesome hands folks regarding our beloved Wolverines, Hoke seems to command so much respect from everyone, we are so lucky to have such a loyal Head Coach who adores the U-M, man the future is looking bright and Bama better look out, I hope all the media honks keep picking the Tide and end up having egg on their faces.

Go Blue!!!

predicted that Florida would destroy Michigan in the Capital One bowl. In 2007, the media predicted that Michigan was going to roll Appy State. In 2004, the media predicted that UM would beat USC by 2 scores because Perry was unstoppable and the three headed monster of Braylon, Breaston and Avant were too much for the Trojans. The media is not smart. The game is played by athletes on the field, not by Dari Nowka (sp) or Jim Rome... Thank God.

In fact. it was the ESPN Gameday Crew broadcasting in the darkness of the early AM at the Rose Bowl that was giving USC zero chance to win.  That is specifically where I got the "three-headed monster" reference.  At that moment, I remeber thinking... Uh Oh.

I just looked for the video... no dice. Sorry.

Maybe you're thinking of the 2007 Rose Bowl? Because USC was ranked #1 in both human polls going into the 2004 Rose Bowl IIRC.......so your perception that most thought we would roll them is probably way off base. As for your examples, yeah, they were wrong that time. But they're also right for the most part when they think one team is gonna roll the other. Because that's what usually happens.

This was last year and later that day, SoCal had a blackout cause some guy supposedly pressed the wrong button, shudder to think that, that lasted about 10-12 hrs., I'm sure you remember it. I woulda never been able to get on the next day or for a while because they clamped down on security due to the energy going out.

I have since then acquired a pass that you have to go through certain channels to be able to get because of my work. That's all I'd really prefer to say publicly on that matter.

So it seems like not too long ago it seemed like the program was in a 3rd & Out mode and later became a 1st & Ten situation going forward, am I right? Thanks for the message the other day, I haven't had a chance to respond to you till now, how do we contact each other, let me know so we could talk my man.

at the same time, I consider how unsophisticated SEC offenses are in general, and how they really don't put out high caliber QBs on a regular basis (Mallett and Jay Cutler aside), and I think to myself... can Alabama score more than 21 points on Mattison when he knows how to defend Saban's offense?  Also, 7 starters gone off of their D... that could mean communication errors and unfamiliarity with eachother.  I like D Rob to exploit that aspect.  I would be shocked if we lose by more than 7... but we only have to wait a few more days to find out.

First game of the season. It makes anything hard to predict. I think SEC is overrated. I think there's a possibility of us being quite good, but there are still lots of questions to be answered about us (particularly WR and DL) and about them (turnover on D and at RB). Wait and see. I'd be tempted to bet the chalk on this one, though, if I were a betting man.

I'm not expecting a win on Saturday, but I couldn't feel much more optimistic about where our future is heading given our level of recruiting, not to mention the quality of coaching. It may take a few years, but we'll get where we need to be.

I think by 2014, our depth will be where it needs to be, and we will be able to go toe-to-toe with any team in the country.

I get really depressed when Michigan loses, so im just hoping we escape this game healthy. Win? Great! Lose Close? Great! Lose big? At least we are healthy!!

Many people who ridicule Michigan for losing to App State and got decimated by Oregon so conveniently forget or just don't realize that Michigan came back that same year to take on and beat Florida in Florida's own back yard.

On paper, Alabama should easily handle Michigan. Odds are Alabama will win. But odds can be beaten. What can't be measured is determination and hunger. Let's hope the Michigan is more determined and more hungry (and makes fewer mistakes and scores more) than Alabama.
