The way these threads have gone I was totally expecting this to be a thread with a misleading title asking when Inside Michigan Football would be posted.

Also, thanks for posting.

I'm still really surprised and impressed by our special teams in this game. That was the one area Maryland needed to dominate if they were going to have a chance in this game, but we completely dominated them

Two take aways from this video:

1. Our road uniforms are much better this year than last year

2. Drake Johnson is quickly becoming my favorite wolverine. Great attitude and even after two major knee injuries he still has his agility. He seems like a positive guy

Don't know why I get such a kick out of seeing Brandstatter and Dierdorf in the booth. Great pair of tackles, played together for 2(?) years, Bo's first and second at Michigan. They just have a lot of love for the team, and fun calling games.

got plenty of run Saturday. I believe we have got the 1-2 punch there that we need. Add in the nice wrinkles at fullback and we can win some games.

Also, that Rudock run was great. I think we can calm down about him. Just want him to connect on a few long passes next week so that MSU has to ancticipate some.

Johnson finally seems healthy...

He's the lighting to the Thunder.

I've said all season, I think Isaac and Green are better pure RBs. However Smith and Johnson are the best RBs for THIS team.

I think if you put Isaac and Green at Bama, LSU or Georgia...they'd run up and down the field. At least, IMO. They're talented guys in terms of the measureables. But they need holes to run through.

Smith is going to be, BY FAR, the best option in the next couple of games. Two stingy defenses where negative plays are KILLERS. Smiths ability to make an Issac or Green loss of 2 into a gain of 1 or 2 is HUGE. Those are hidden yards that people don't see because we're still in 2nd and 8.

It kept us in the game versus Utah if you go back and watch. And 2nd and 8 is so much better than 2nd and 12 for this Michigan team (and Rudock). Smith's ability to fight for extra yards and always fall forward makes up for the lack of speed and holes he misses for time to time.

Green and Isaac are drive killers on this team because for every big pop, we'll have waaaay too many 3 and outs.

Johnson's by far the fastest and has the best vision...so he's a perfect compliment to Smith. Just wish we would diversify his playbook a little. The guy can only run so many toss sweeps.

I really like our RB matchup in the next couple of games. Unless you have Fournette or Elliott or Chubb or Cook...which we don't --- you're better off having a couple of guys who do some things REALLY well and some things not so well. Than playing the more complete backs who just aren't as good as the elite names I just mentioned. Smith has Fournette power, Johnson has Elliott vision. I'll take that over the watered down version of an elite back who can't cut it behind an average OL.

I completely disagree with you on Isaac and Green, especially Green.  He is average in his best moments, no matter who is blocking for him.  Neither guy has burst or vision.

Drake Johnson has both of those important attributes and is more difficult to bring down than people think.  When healthy, he is by far the best, most complete RB on the roster.  (assuming that Higdon cant show anything because he is redshirting)

Based on WHAT brings you to this conclusion about Johnson? The OSU game last year has to be it. He's got like 50-60 carries in meaningful situations versus teams with a pulse (aka not cupcakes or mop up duty against 3rd team defenses)

That's like me saying Moe Ways is the most complete WR on this team. The sample size is a step above nothing. Okay, that was an exaggeration...but I don't see how you could draw a conclusion about anyone except Smith or Green. They've had meaningful carries in multiple games and have gameplanned for...Johnson and Isaac have not.

You also missed what I was saying...the point was simple.

Rather than have guys who are a 7 out of 10 in everything. I'd rather take the guy who is a 9 or 10 in some of the catagories and a 4 or 5 in the others. And then another guy who is a 9 or 10 in the "other" catagories and a 4 or 5 in the ones the first back excelled in.

Add them up and the guys getting 7's in everything may grade out higher as a total and be percieved the better back. But the other two are a better fit for Michigan.

Exactly what do you see in Green?

He is a 5 star bust who would not sniff the field at Bama or LSU.

Ty has shown very little.

Neither player has great burst (Johnson does).  Neither player has great vision (Johnson does).  Neither player has wiggle and great balance (Johnson does).  Neither player is effective out of the backfield as a pass catcher, as Johnson is.

HA HA ?  WTF is that?

We simply agree to disagree.

Johnson is by far the BEST back on the roster (note that we have not seen Higdon yet)

They both call the plays...

Jedd calls it and Jim vetos or sometimes he's got a play called before Jedd calls something.

It's weird, because Drevno is the offensive coordinator. Maybe he comes up with the gameplan during the week?

It would be a nice press conference question - but we're just going to get a bunch of "how important is it to win on the road?" type questions.

Fisch has mentioned in a presser that they all three give input on the play calls. He said he had never seen it done this way before, but he was definitely going to adopt this strategy for the rest of his career. I think he said harbaugh chooses run or pass and then drevno/Wheatley or fisch/jaybaugh give input on the personnel and the play with harbaugh having the ultimate say

I was just thinking the same thing. Harbaugh gave him credit for the fake double screen pass to hill and then the screen to drake against an all out blitz this week. Not sure how much of te overall play calling he gets but its obvious he was a hell of a hire. I hope we can keep him for a few years, if I remember right he s only on a 1 year contract.

I believe Drevno still calls most of the plays.  Fisch may be up in the box making suggestions.  After the 2 point successful play, Harbaugh gives Drevno a chest bump with his fist and a nod like "good call man".

There's a slice from the video where it shows our punt coverage team containing Will Likely.  He gained a few yards, but no more.

Here's what caught my eye -- the coverage team was disciplined.  The white uniforms arrayed out to cover the run lanes.  Likely tried to juke right and the Michigan players shuffled with him; he then tried to juke left and the Michigan players shuffled back with him.  Likely had no where to go, so he tried to run through the Michigan players, and that got nowhere.

It was a beautiful thing to see.

baxter is killing it as special teams coach. the maryland return game went from "do not punt to will likely!!!!!" to "will likely? shmeh."

as for people wondering about the three-guy system for offensive play calling, it does seem a little complex (and totally the antithesis of the no-headset hoke "we'll just throw some crap at the wall and see if it works" system), but my guess is that this is how harbaugh has done his offensive play calling for a while. it's worked other places, and i think it's just a matter of time before it starts really working here.

Thank you for posting this.  It has a great segment on Drake Johnson and his comeback.  When healthy, Drake is the most complete and most talented RB on the roster.   As he continues to get the feel back in his game, he will give the offense a much needed playmaker as the B1G season progresses.

Not that anyone cares, but I'm enjoying my Saturdays watching the depth we have at a position when playing MANBALL. Seems to me that on any given play, any one of these dudes can go beast mode.
