Injury Report
MICHIGAN (vs. Illinois)
Out
- CB J.T. Floyd, ankle (out for season)
- LB Mike Jones, leg
- WR Martavious Odoms, foot
- RB Fitzgerald Toussaint, shoulder
- S Jared Van Slyke, clavicle (out for season)
- CB Troy Woolfolk, ankle (out for season)
- S Mike Williams, head
Questionable
- OL Perry Dorrestein, knee
- WR Je'Ron Stokes, knee
Probable
- DT Mike Martin, ankle
So, no real surprises here. Je"Ron Stokes is one I didn't know about, Mike Martin being probable is always a good thing, and Fitz Toussaint being listed as out is still disappointing.

where Stokes has been. I was wondering why we didn't see more of him last week.
Fitz....ugh.

He dropped one pass early in the 2nd quarter if I recall.

What are the chances that Shaw is back to 100% and we will get to see him Saturday?
November 4th, 2010 at 9:56 PM ^
probably the same as someone not named vincent smith running the ball on 3rd and 1... every week i get my hopes up, and every week i am disappointed.

I've found these "official" injury reports to be less then helpful. Mike Shaw hasn't been on here for weeks, and yet only has about 5 carries since he's been "healthy."
November 4th, 2010 at 8:18 PM ^
seriously, i fail to believe RR isn't saying everyone that is still hurt.. I couldn't imagine why shaw hasn't touched the ball more than 10 times in the last couple games.

I hope there is a defensive Michigan god...Must win game!
November 4th, 2010 at 9:25 PM ^
There is such a god and he has been very, very angry at us. (H/T: The Shredder) And don't forget the Secondary Collage of Doom.

soo is fitz done for the year or what?
November 5th, 2010 at 12:14 AM ^
looks that way doesn't it? Very frustrating.
November 4th, 2010 at 8:24 PM ^
I feel that any of the Michigan players who are even remotely able to play will give it a shot on Saturday. All of them know that this game is probably their Rose Bowl - meaning that with a win they will stop the bleeding of three Big Ten losses in a row, take some heat off of their coach, become bowl eligible and possibly be able to have back-to-back victories with Purdue on the horizon.

I think you're 100% correct. And maybe, with the NCAA nonsense safely in the rear view mirror we can finally catch a break. I think i'd absolutely giddy if we won the next two and rolled into the Wisconsin game 7-3.
November 4th, 2010 at 8:26 PM ^
I really want to see Shaw back healthy, it just seems like the offense has another gear and it runs alot better when Shaw is in and 100%. No offense to Vincent, but he just isn't the same since the ACL tear.
November 4th, 2010 at 10:38 PM ^
If you look at the numbers, Vincent Smith is basically the same since the ACL tear. This is who he is.
November 5th, 2010 at 12:16 AM ^
I think Shaw being healthy definitely helps the offense, if nothing, he's a change of pace from Smith and has the breakaway speed if he happens to bust through. Smith, though, has been very effective as a receiving option coming out of the backfield on the little screen dumps (PSU game).

That Van Slyke has been out this year. Aside from the depth he would have added, it would have been great to see a walk on get some PT and Kovacs has shown this can be a very good thing. When Avery Walls and HaHa set foot on campus Van Slyke's shot at PT will likely be gone. I like Vinogrit but Van Slyke is somewhat of a veteran and could have contributed.

Walls AND Ha Ha..dream much?

When Avery Walls and HaHa set foot on campus
I wouldn't get your hopes up slugger

What is a man without his dreams?
November 4th, 2010 at 8:58 PM ^
..It's the OSU game right? Hagerup booms a punt so hard that it goes into the press box and permanently deforms the entire Freep staff. Denard wins on a last second bomb to Stonum. Lawrence Thomas, Trey Depriest, Charles Jackson (I liked him more than Doran Grant, call me weird), HaHa, Karlos Williams, Sammy Watkins, Tim Jernigan, and Teddy Bridgewater all commit/flip commitments and RR walks off with the giddiest face we've ever seen on the poor guy. Also, we learn that RR's just been keeping Boo-Boo and Demar in an underground super-corner facility where they've learned straight from Charles Woodson, waiting to be released on the world. All stories to the contrary are proven false.
Hey, what is a man without his dreams?
November 4th, 2010 at 9:03 PM ^
Penalties are reviewable retroactively. Crable's "late hit" on Troy Smith is reversed, Michigan beats OSU, plays Florida for the NC game and beats them in the same fashion as they did in the 2008 Capital One bowl. Every recruit we want, loves our mojo and signs with us bringing us a minimum of two more NC since.

Wasn't there an article put out about Adidas shoes and lower leg problems? Maybe I'm just drunk....
November 4th, 2010 at 8:38 PM ^
i was hoping to see MM nowhere on that report.
November 4th, 2010 at 8:46 PM ^
I'm starting to think they're holding Fitz out for a medical redshirt?
November 4th, 2010 at 9:42 PM ^
Fitz already redshirted, and 6th years (two redshirts) are awarded with extreme rarity. Jason White from OU comes to mind, he received a second redshirt because he destroyed both his knees early on in his career (one in 2001 and the other in 2002).
November 4th, 2010 at 10:14 PM ^
We're saving him and his 33.0 YPC for OSU.
November 4th, 2010 at 10:35 PM ^
If I recall, did Jibreel Black go down during th PSU game? I thought he looked pretty hurt. Maybe I was drunk, but I swear he left the game.
November 4th, 2010 at 10:39 PM ^
Yes, but he came back.
