Submitted by WingsNWolverines on
As our 9th ranked Wolverines prepare to continue the season series against arch rival tOSU I ask all of you to be there @ the Schott tomorrow night and @ Progressive Field Sunday to drown out the Bucknuts in a sea of maize and blue. Where your Michigan price and help the Michigan contingency stuck in the worst state ever over power the crowd by filling it with maize and blue! Faceoff tomorrow @ 7:35 pm @ the Schott and 5:05 pm @ Progressive Field! Let's show these bastards how hockey is played! GO BLUE!

Looking on TicketMaster, the lower seating is sold-out, with a ton of empty seats in the upper deck. Progressive has a capacity of 43,441; I'd be surprised if Ohio can fill 51% of that.

They might have gotten a sweet deal to have the game in Cleveland, but their better bet would probably have been hosting the game at Columbus Crew Stadium, or something closer to Columbus or up near Toledo.

OSU fans don't go to hockey games. It's a shame since they are very good this year. I would expect the stadium to be half empty and UofM should be able to overwhelm the OSU fans no problem. I live up here and I only get to see OSU when they play at Munn or Yost, unless I want to drive 6hrs.

Anyone have any bars they plan on going to in Cleveland? I imagine it will be mostly a pro-OSU crowd. I'm headed down with a couple of fellow Michigan-grads, would be nice to see some fellow fans during the pre-game.

I think it was Ira this morning on 1050 and he said it best, This game is going to be a lot of osu fans who don't give a sh*t about hockey and will be very drunk. Then most of the michigan faithful will probably shoot to the bars after the game to watch the playoffs and I believe thats the ravens vs texans game. if anyone shows up in cleveland in michigan gear and then rooting for the raven in the bar that night, you won't becoming home alive.

I live in Westlake (western suburb of Ctown) and it isn't nearly as bad in this area as it is in Cbus. Don't worry about the Ohio honks at bars if anyone is going to them downtown. 1) It's hockey and they don't care, which is surprising because they're a good team this year and Ohio fans are always looking to jump on a bandwagon, 2) We won in football and that's all that matters.

I can't wait for this game. I'm wearing my Michigan gloves, Michigan coat, and one of my Michigan knit hats. I had to get tickets in one of the Ohio sections because all those tickets in the pre-sale with the codes were sold out in the Michigan sections. I'm not worried though because I think there are many Michigan fans in my same boat who had to buy Ohio section tickets to be there in the lower sections. It will be a good time.

Quick and Loans Arena is an awesome place to eat and to grab a beer! I'll be there before and after the game to grab some food. EAT AWAY FROM THE STADIUM. I've been to Progressive and food is NOT cheap in that stadium.

Please join us at Houlihan's in Tower City before the hockey game to enjoy some food and drinks before venturing out to the snowy baseball diamond!

The puck drops at 5 pm, so come early and prepare...

Where: Houlihans - 230 W Huron, 3rd floor of Tower City Center

When: 1 - 4:30, Sunday January 15

I looked at tickets and it seemed most had been sold as it allowed you to pick seats. Hairy buffalo is a decent bar. Up east 9th from the stadium there are 3-4 nice bars a few blocks from the stadium. Should be a fun game.
