Iman Marshall Puts UM In his 5 Official Visits
Saw this on Nick B's twitter feed - looks like UM will be one of Iman's 5 visits with ND, FSU, Oklahoma, and LSU. One of these 5 teams is not in the top 10. Marshall is this year's Peppers; a top 5 player in the country and #1 CB.
Everyone has Iman to USC so presume that until otherwise seen, and Marcus Lewis seems like the most likely CB commit, but hey if both show up in maize and blue, no one is going to be upset.

I think those are his 5 officials. He is still considering the local schools.

Yes I changed the title to more accurately reflect this. Thanks. USC is the school to beat. All things considered where the team is relative to the 4 others he will be visiting, still a "upside beat".

I dig the top 4 list!

That said, I am happy that he is going to visit Ann Arbor...where anything can happen.

A lot of criticism over the actual football being played, but I don't think anyone would count hoke out on a recruit just bc we're not ranked.

This most likely is one of them,

So you're not willing to commit to counting him out without a qualifier?

Take a look at his list and who's the outlier? He ain't coming here, but kudos on getting granted an official, I suppose.

Who would want to go to the other places when you can come to Michigan!
September 14th, 2014 at 10:26 PM ^
but i can't really comprehend why a great recruit would want to come to michigan given the unpredictable coaching situation and lack of recent success--unless they have a strong connection to michigan

From what I have heard, he and Freddy Canteen are good friends, and thus, he has heard alot about the school, and would like to see it for himself. There is also the fact that Donovan Warren was from his high school, and came all the way to Ann Arbor to play his college football, so there are a few connections.
Sometimes feelings transcend logic, and you fall in love with a person or a place, even a time, if you have ever walked the campus on a clear October day, felt the clean cool crispness of the air, smelled the autumn leaves, marvelled at the beauty of their various colors, and listened to the myriad sounds as the students and faculty alike go about their daily lives, then you can see how a person could want to come to Michigan, even if the on-field situation is less than stellar.
Plus all kids think that they are the difference between winning and losing.

I love this paragraph - I think we need to get you to write those recruiting letters like they do in the SEC ... except this is far more cool than "You da best!"

Last night, I was tired, and on my way to bed, but I had to write down what I remember about loving the place, and time. I never talk to recruits, but if the staff ever felt like it would help, I would be proud if they sent a copy to Marshall, or K.L.S., for they do not have Autumn in Califormia, at least not like in Michigan. They could even add, "You da best!" in case that actually works.

Hoke is not going anywhere even if we only win 7 games. He's building something and I tend to think DB will let him instead of pulling a RR and starting over.
September 15th, 2014 at 12:57 AM ^
DB may not have a job after this football season. Remember, he to is not safe. I would bet the board of regents are keeping a watch on the situation.
September 15th, 2014 at 11:28 AM ^
DB is bringing huge money into the AD without a top ten football team...he's not going anywhere. As much as everyone here hates on him the man is doing his job quite well. The football team is the only one underperforming across the entire AD. He's overseen massive facility upgrades, and brought a ton of attention to the non revenue sports.

So you think all recruits just care about coaching and recent success? None of them are there to play school in your eyes, right?

There is no one like peppers in this class

we can steal a recruit from USC who looked like a sure bet to go there.
it seems like every couple hears they come out of nowhere and steal an almost lock for us.
