I would not be at all concerned with your choices.

Whenever I see someone wearing an MSU or OSU shirt or bumper sticker I usually just roll my eyes and grumble. I wonder if they do the same thing about Michigan shirts and other apparel.
You have no idea....I get so sick of hearing OH--IO when in UM attire. I usually offer a congratulations for spelling it correctly and thus passing the Ohio 9th grade proficiency test.
Most times people have said it to me, it comes out, "O-I-H-O" ...
I might get negged for this, but whenever I see someone with OSU gear, they might get a glare from in their direction, but I just can't stand to see Spartan gear. The OSU fans I've come across have a begrudging respect for us, and some of them have even come out and say that what RR is going through is BS, and some have even confided in me that they are leery about what RR has brewing over here. Spartan fans on the other hand have been increasing my blodd pressure since The Horror. My stepsons' dad, being the asshat he is, knows I'm a diehard Michigan fan, so he buys them App. State t-shirts after The Horror. Needless to say, while doing laundry one day, to qoute Yoda, those shirts "disappeared they have."
Send your wife's ex a friendly greeting card.
"Guess what. I just did your wife!"
I'm with you on that one. I'm a former band member, and one of the interesting "behind the scenes" things you get to experience is the opposing team running up the tunnel right before you run down it. Most of them are pretty much dicks and lay some taunts down at the band. This is fine, because it allows you to stew in hatred and pray that unholy pain rains down upon them in the form of Brandon Graham. MSU, as expected were uber dicks. This was good. Ohio State however, was easily the nicest team walking up that tunnel. They smiled, laughed, and worst of all, wished us good luck. It was one of the biggest letdowns ever.
Furthermore, while I do hate OSU a lot, not having daily contact with them sort of dulls out the anger between Novembers.
One of my best friends s an OSU fan, we met in high school and i had no idea he was a OSU fan and he didnt know i was a Michigan fan until it was too late we were already friends.
but we love just killing each other about it, making bets and stuff. but we always say if we had known our alliegence before we were friends, we would not be.
This is never an issue for me...
When we are winning.
to OSU or MSU fans, cause when I go into Burger King I know that shift manager tag means I'm on their turf.
Despise OSU, feel sorry for MSU. I really can't stand people wearing OSU gear as I assume 90% never went to school there which irks me more. I have friends from MSU so I usually feel sorry for them because they have such an inferiority complex.
So going to said school is a preq. for wearing team gear now? I suppose I should burn mine then?
I guess I'll stop being a Michigan fan now so you won't have to cheer with some "non-student"
I don't hate MSU fans as much because I know a lot of MSU grads. Plus, they don't really have anything I'm envious of.
I do hate everything Ohio. I never take toll roads in Ohio and in Chicago I go an extra exit to Washington St. to bypass "Ohio St." I root for the other big ten schools but can't enjoy OSU losses enough.
I hate Notre Dame with a passion. I respectfully hate Ohio State and really just ignore MSU fans. I've learned to be respectful to people though and stab them in the back later... It's all part of being a passive-agressive prick.
I hate almost every school from the Big 10 for varying reasons. Of course OSU and MSU are at the top of the list, but I have problems dealing with people from all the schools. Just last week a Purdue grad was in my office for training and I had to share my computer with them for 3 days. Everytime I got on my computer there would be some website in the address bar history for the boilermakers. I had to erase my history everytime otherwise I couldn't pay attention to work. I have serious problems.
I also feel the need to say something. I usually do not, but I am fighting every urge. I am most annoyed when I see ugly people walking around in OSU/MSU gear. I feel like they do it so that other fans of their schools will talk to them and make them feel important. It is these people that annoy me most. A "Go fuck yourself" is what i am thinking inside.
I try to remain classy otherwise and just know that in my head I hate them so much.
Just yesterday, I saw a car with Michigan plates and Ohio State decals. I left the owner a nice little note on the car.
We Wolverines, we're classy people. We could've pulled a Buckeye and slashed the tires, but we don't.
shirt pretty much sums up my attitude towards Ohio and its residents.
Ohio stole Toledo from us and they'll never be forgiven. They're a bunch of city-stealin' good for nothings.
MSU and ND grads? most of them are OK, I kind of feel like they are not evil, just misguided. Very misguided. No reason to harbor ill-will. Pity perhaps.
If it'll make you feel better, I'll gladly give you Toledo if you'll give me the upper peninsula.
Cheer for your team! Cool.
School pride - no problem.
Attack my school - YOU have a problem.
I have no respect for someone wearing a "Muck Fishigan" shirt, or an "Ann Arbor is a whore" shirt. Even less for those that wear both on the same shirt (aka Illinois fans last year). I will call out a fan like that every time. It just flat pisses me off.
I am non-discriminatory on this subject. I have the same negative reactions to a Michigan fan wearing a similar taunting shirt. (Not going to call them out though.) I would like to think that we would have more dignity than that.
EDIT: Just thought about it a little more. I am willing to make an exception. Fuck Ohio State and the entire state of Ohio. Fuck them all. Where do I buy a shirt?
Is they're just crass. They show no creativity. Or intelligence. I mean, when OSU was in town, the guy two rows in front of me had their mascot being blown by a girl in Michigan gear. Wow, your mom must be so proud.
If I see something creative, or funny, I'll tip my hat or chuckle to it. But Switching the "F" and the first letter of a school name? Yeah, I'm sure you came up with that one. And I don't really like it any more on Michigan T-shirts. I think we're better than that. That's why the MGoStore line of CREATIVE digs are so cool.
(Note: the above described OSU shirt did serve one purpose...I took a pic of it on my phone, and showed it to the girl I know who sold her tickets to an Ohio State fan. Yup honey, this is what they think of you).
I completely agree--on just about everything. But, then again, I don't mind Nuck Duck Fotre Fame. It's like it is written in an ancient and since forgotten language, and I just have to find out what my ancestors were trying to communicate.
As long as it's creative. THAT'S creative.
Being disgusted at the sight of someone wearing OSU or MSU apparel is pretty normal. Actually doing something assholish (like cursing out a complete stranger in the street) in response to said clothing is another story.
and I was fortunate enough to witness a parking officer writing a ticket to place on a chevy blazer that was all green, with white trim, some form of MSU vanity plate, and oodles of Spartan stickers, decals and other kinds of paraphernalia stuck inside the windows, etc., etc. It was the vehicle of one very dedicated Spartan fan. It sort of irked me to see it actually, even though this was well before our current state of affairs and still in the era where we owned them outright, in fact I think it was in the spring following the Braylon-Fest overtime win, if I remember correctly.
At first I simply chuckled at their misfortune, but then decided to poke them with a stick, at least in the figurative sense. I looked at the ticket, written with a black ink pen and went in search of same. Returned to the car after finding the right pen and made a few edits to the ticket.
There was a checkbox were the 'meter expired' infraction was checked with a fine of about $35 listed as the penalty. At the bottom of the ticket in a blank area, I added a checkbox and checked it of course, labeling it 'blatant and public display of indecent college football materials' with the penalty column listing $200 as the penalty. In the other blank area at the bottom of the ticket, I added, 'Thanks for parking. Go Blue!' with a little smiley face.
It made my day to imagine how pissed of that would make them when they got back to their car.
It's absolutely pretentious (though I don't deliberately/consciously intend it to be, it still is), and I guess it doesn't make sense from some perspectives given the current state of the football program, but ...
When I see MSU or OSU fans, I grin. In my head, as an involuntary reflex, I'm lifting my nose. It's a little douchey. I can admit that. But seeing their fans unconditionally elicts in me feelings of "My University is elitely fantastic and fantastically elite, and, well, theirs? It is less so." And, really, I mean *really*, am I wrong?
