I'm not going to add anything substantiative to the hundreds of other blog posts on the subject of RR or the alleged NCAA violations. This is just a rant. Sorry.
I like to torture myself by reading the comment sections of articles about Michigan on ESPN.com, the Daily, and (sorry) even the Freep. I don't really understand why I do it, because all it does is get me angry. People who claim to be Michigan fans constantly call for RR to be fired, and only parrot the views of people in the MSM, with uninformed and stupid opinions. The one that set me off today (paraphrased): "RR needs to be fired...he's run this program into the ground...we need a Michigan Man...From a disappointed Maize and blue faithful."
I used to think MGoBlog was just a fun way to learn a little more about the team, and football in general. Now, I know that it is more important than that. It should be required reading for anyone who wants to know anything about Michigan football. From Brian's dismantling of the Freep's "investigation" to Misopogon's research explaining the problems with the defense, the information here is vital to having an informed opinion. People don't have to read everything that goes through the MGoBoard, the diaries, and the posts, but a cursory glance every once in a while would help people reduce their ignorance.
It pains me to put it this way, but I want everyone who thinks Rodriguez should be fired, to shut up. If you don't know all the facts, please don't speak out of your ass. You may be well-intentioned, but don't give me b.s. about being a maize and blue faithful when all you've done is read the bottom line on ESPN and listened to Valenti, Foster, or Drew Sharp. It's unfair for you to attack our program for things that are not their fault/responsibility. It looks especially bad for fans of other teams.
I don't want to sound like I'm trying to denigrate all who disagree with me. Just those who are straight out, objectively wrong in their thinking. Listen to Brian Cook, and you'll be a lot smarter.
