Illinois' Wilson done for the year . . .
I know I'm being a jerk by saying this, but I'm so sick of this happening to Michigan over the years that I'm just relieved that it's finally happening to other teams this year.
Yeah, that's like a really terrible thing to say.
Tough luck for Wilson. First the stabbing back in December, and now this. Never want to see a kid get injured, but this will help us alot. Illinois' run D just took a major hit. A bad D just got worse.
is that something he will be allowed to play with, even after successful surgery? Especially as a linebacker?
I just hope he has his grades in a position where he can simply say I'll take my degree from Illinois and not risk spending my life in a wheelchair. I am just happy he has a great academic school as a fall back option.
it's just usually in their lower back. Once the spine is allowed to heal and the herniated part of the disc goes away, they can play and aren't at greater risk of breaking their vertebrae or anything. The disc could herniate again, which could potentially affect the innervation of (usually) his arm muscles (usually triceps or hands, but it varies).
