Both teams look like they're sleepwalking.

Both teams look like they're sleepwalking.
Thanks for the reminder.
I really like the briliant comentary of 'if Illinois makes their baskets, they can win.' Genius!
This is some ugly basketball. I'd rather be watching OSU Wisconsin right now.
Mr Gee, is that you? You guys played Wisconsin last night.
Which rival do I root for in this one?
Root for the Illinois Chefs, or Orange Corns.
Illinois. Definitely rooting for Illinois.
Illinois really doesn't like to take good shots do they?
I'm not watching the game, so let me guess. Was it mostly Brandon Paul?
I have never seen any coach cry like Tom Izzo. It's embarassing.
Root for Illinois for sure. Love to see Tom Birdbrain blow a gasket.
Illinois shooting fairly well to start, up 10. I suspect they will cool off and state ends up winning. Msu really is a mercurial team- look so different from their game at Indiana.
Love that there are so many promos for M basketball during a MSU game. When's the last time that happened?
As long as Illinois doesn't lose by more than 9 I win. Would be better if they won though
Illinois getting killed on the glass.
Payne's got to be improving his draft status by stroking all these threes.
And has moved on to off the dribble 3's
Down 10 at half. They look disjointed and confused.
9 turnovers sparty!?!?! turrible turrible turrible
Illinois up 10 at half!
Let's see how cold Illinois goes in the second to let State win another close game over a bad team.
Cold and bad defense.
Spartans look really sloppy. Illinois is shooting well, but it's not like they are playing at a high level.
7 fouls on Illinois and 6 on MSU, so I assume I'm just going to hear MSU fans whine about the refs and how they never get any home court advantage.
Duh. They're obviously getting undressed by the refs. This only happens when they're losing if course.
Illinois looks good tonight and I'd love to see them hold on. . . but I'm not getting my hopes up. Sparty has a way of scraping out ugly wins this year.
Nice, 10 point lead at the half.
I can't decide if Illinois is just unlucky with their recent terrible shooting or if it is their own fault for taking lousy looks. Probably both. The numbers look like just a cold streak but when you watch them it is like they take the first open perimeter shot they see on every possession.
Appling sure takes a lot of shots for a guy with a 46.6 eFG%. Got to be frustrating to the Sparty fans to see him take shots that should be going to Harris or Payne.
anyone else see bruce pearl shit his pants breaking down our matchup against IU? he forgot his 2nd point and then scrambled and said we rebound the ball well
Right now, in addition to the 37-27 Illinois lead, the Spartans are also losing the battle of FG% - about 42% to 48% at the moment actually. In addition, the Spartans actually have the edge on rebounding (17 to 13) as well turnovers (9 by the Spartans, 1 by Illinois - no, I don't know anyone that wants to have more turnovers than the other guy), as the broadcast mentioned.
About one-third of the scoring in this game has actually been on three-pointers, led by Richardson for Illinois and Harris for Michigan. Beyond this, with the sole exception of Brandon Paul, no one has scored more than five points.
...the power of the 2013 Fighting Corns collectible cup from Arby's > 2013 Li'l Bro' version
Illinois is going to try their hardest to lose this. Hopefully MSU sucks just enough to make them fail.
Spartans are steppng up on defense and Illini reverting to form.
they are still basking in the glow of their close loss to IU.
That loss was amazing. Such a good loss.
Illinois offense looks very discombobulated at points. Kinda reminds me of Michigan during the Amaker era. Where there is a lot of individual talent but trip over their own feet and they are having trouble with every pass. Part of that should be credited to sparty's defense.
There really are a lot of teams around the country like that. It makes me grateful to have Beilein.
Game is over.
Wow, Illinois is really bad.
Just like Illinois season. Great first half. Ugly, ugly second half.
Way to give up a 14-0 run to start the second half Illinois.....
In this one.
I'm sorry. What?
He was responding to a Sparty troll who has since been caved.
How does a team give up a 14-0 to start the half. Honestly, how does that happen?
Well the other team scores 14 straight points before you score any.
we hit a three to open up the Ohio State game before giving up 16 straight...
Who does Nate Stauskas play for?
They're basically a non-factor in the Big Ten race whereas MSU only has 2 losses so an Illinois W is obviously good for us
Thanks for the tip...
Illinois is terrible.
Giving up 22 points in 7 minutes should get you kicked out of this conference.
QUALIFIES you for the Big Ten, at least until recently.
In the 2nd half, Illinois remembered they're Illinois.
and that's why you're Illinois.
It appears Gary Harris is the star pupil in Tom Izzo's "Facial Expressionism" class.
what a weak foul.
Already in the bonus. B1G Home refs.
Egwu is awful.
and MSU fans have the balls to say they never get special treatment in breslin...
LOL! Gary Harris is the best freshman in the Big Ten? GRIII is now getting top 10 consideration for the NBA draft, and is basically a concensus lottery pick.
I haven't once heard Gary Harris' name come up in any sort of NBA draft talk.
The poll was taken during an MSU game, what do you expect?
What is Illinois's fascination with the pullup 18-footer? They keep taking them and missing badly.
Valentine definitely travelled.
I don't want to judge someone on their looks, but I have never seen someone with a constant brainless expression on their face like Valentine seems to have.
Yep. He looks exactly like a kid I went to high school with.
That Illinois player must have been head butting Valentines elbow.
13 fouls and counting for Illinois this half.
Well whoever said MSU finds a way to win ugly this year you were right. Ugly, ugly half.
Please tell me the home court officiating bias won't be THIS bad on Saturday.
It won't be this bad. It'll be far worse.
Illinois does play stupid defense. You'd think they would change things up with the way the refs are calling it.
Illinois would have held onto their lead if they had a kraken, or a werewolf, or a mock up of the state made to look like Abe Lincoln as their mascot.
I wanted to chime in and say what a boring effing announcing crew this is......zzzzzzzzz
This officiating is getting ridiculous
I mean c'mon Illinois.
Fouling a three point shooter? Literally every single MSU possession this half has been a made field goal or foul shot attempts.
That's an awful call on Appling's 3. Should be offensive foul. Ball dont lie
Appling: oh they hit my hand? better lose function in my legs!
He kicked a leg out to get the contact. Old Jason Kidd trick.
Kidd? You mean Reggie Miller?
Well MSU can never complain they don't get the calls after this half of basketball...geez...
What a joke of a call.
Granted, Illinois has no one to blame but themselves for not showing up for the first 5-6 minutes of the second half - but they really are getting homered by the officials here.
24(!!!!!!!!!!!!) free throws in the second half alone...are you kidding me?
All the State fans have this on their radios here in the plant. God, I hate Will Tieman.
How does shooting %age work? If a ridiculously weak foul gets called, misses don't count against you?
Shot attempts don't count when you're fouled, unless it goes in (and there's continuation).
Yeah, I figured as much since that number is completely unreal. I was also trying to lampoon the terrible combo of Illinois "defense" and Breslin home cookin' that rewarded MSU with FTs on every 2nd half possession that might have involved a rebound.
When you commit 19 fouls and give up 53 points in one half, you aren't going to win the game.
That would have been the definition of Sparty No but oh well. No way Illinois wins the game in overtime.
What happened? Last I saw they were up 10? Must have been an awful half by the ever struggling fighting Illini.
State just keeps winning. Not sure how but they keep eeking out games
MSU took 32 free throws in the 2nd Half. Thats 3 more than Michigan's highest total free throw attempts this year.
When a team shoots 32 free throws, what is the point of watching the game? It's no longer basketball. It's a game at the county fair.
...against the 2-5 (BIG) Colonel Kernels seems hardly worthy of a #13 ranking.
We dispatched the Illini by 14 In Champaign. I guess sparty can drink champagne from those Arby's glasses tonight and breathe a sigh of relief.
Its been happening all season.
