Illinois vs Indiana game notes

Yesterday I had the opportunity to go watch the Illinois IU game and thought I would pass along some things I saw with our future opponent. *They fumble the ball A LOT! Hopefully our seemingly opportune defense can capitalize. One fumble was inside their own 5 yard line and IU could not punch it in to make them pay(not necause Illinois was playing killer D, but because the IU playcalling was horrible!) * We can run the ball up the middle on them! IU ran a couple zone reads up the gut on them that went for some nice yardage. I don't think we'll want to run the ball outside often as Mercilus is a stud out there. * Kick returns seemed like IU had good field position all day and even took the opeing kickoff to the house. * They aren't great at any one thing most of their offense is set up off the run and Jenkins will slip behind you(or IUs defensive backs are being coached by Gibson) That's about all I got other than IU needs Gunner Keil because the ones they have now are terrible and so is the OC(Thank God for Denard and Gorgeous Al Borges)

I fully expect us to reach the Illinois game at 8-1 or 9-0.  If Denard's passing and the defense continue to improve, I like our chances in Champaign.

I'll worry more about Illinois in a few weeks.  But I still think the jury is out on them.  They had 3 straight weeks of 3 point escapes before playing Indiana. They lose at home to Northwestern if Persa doesn't leave the game. They did NOT look good against Western. Alex Carder threw for almost 400 yards on them.

I think we'll go in as favorites and that they'll pose just enough of an upset threat to keep it interesting, but in the end we'll win big.
