Illinois stuns Indiana

Submitted by TheGhostofYost on

Illinois ends the game on a huge 13-2 run to defeat #1 Indiana, making a lay-up off of an inbounds play with .5 seconds left.  Thought this deserved its own thread for the people who weren't following the Thursday night thread, and for a possible posbang to see Tom Crean and Home Depot eat it.

With the way the dominoes are falling, even if we lose as #1, we will be right back at the top after a couple games. I'm cool with being #1, Michigan is not going to lose at MSU. I'm actually more worried about Wisconsin and our team relying on the 3 ball when they are only alotted 15 possessions in the game.

Not only will indiana lose on the road to Michigan, ohio, state, minny. They just lost to illinois.

They just can't win on the road.

I understand your point but am just pointing out that what you're implying is honestly improbable, at least in my opinion.  If we were talking about a mediocre team then yes, I'd be on board to say they're going to lose their road games and probably win at home.  We could be arguing how good Indiana really is, I suppose, but if we agree that Indiana is one of the better teams in the country I honestly don't think they'll lose 4 more games because they're "on the road".  I guess I just feel they're better than that.  But, as tonight shows, sh*t happens and anything's possible, so.

the SF is great and all, but this really speaks to the depth of the league and how good M has been in the 1st half of the conference schedule. We have 2 tough losses on the road to 2 of the top 3 contenders (besides us of course). 2-2 in this 4 games stretch is all we need to pretty much lock a B10 title, maybe outright.

Come on guys..I know it's been awhile since we've been elite but let's try to at least act like we've been there before (even though its been awhile).

We're obviously #1. FLA lost by 25 to a team we beat. Kansas lost to TCU, Indiana lost to Illinois who we beat on the road. Try not to act so surprised..jesus

Huge not only for the Big 10 title race but for the race to get the #1 seed in the midwest and stay relatively close to home for the regional.

I'm with you.  And if you go back you'll see I called my shot and said Michigan was the #1 team in the country way back before the season even started.  I took shit for it but I said we were the best and Indiana was overrated as Hell.
