BTN sideline reporter say he was cleared in the locker room but held out for the day as a precaution and because he wasn't needed. Not sure how accurate it is, because that seems pretty detailed and not something likely to come from Harbaugh, but BTN aired it.

Both are explosive.  Higgy runs with more power and is more durable.  Of course Chris will get more mass and size thougout his career but Higgy will always have the edge in power.

Together I would take them over Samuel and Weber.

smith should be the #1 back, with his toughness and power, good pass protection. It's him wear down the defense so other RBs can excel later. He's always the number 1. He doesn't process sideline to sideline speed, so it seems less effective in red zone.

Smith had some damn nice runs today though in the first half that only he can get. Won't matter though. I'm watching this suckeye d-line right now against Penn State and if Michigan doesn't run all over their candy asses, hell must've froze over. That means the Vikings have won the Super Bowl. I know that hasn't happened.

Lot of good throws, took great care of the football.  Higdon is a stud.  Deveon ran well, Ty ran well, Evans ran well and walked off field on his own power after vicious targeting hit.  7 & 0.

Eh, I don't think so. Don't get me wrong Harbaugh knows what the hell he's doing but Pepper's offensive play seemed a little forced today; and I don't think they were Sparty bait plays. Those same plays have been run all season, any competent coaching staff would watch this years film and see that.

Not gonna speak for Anthony, but for me, they're both true. I mean, yes, it was totally forced. It was forced because Harbaugh is trying hard to get him in the Heisman conversation. If Peppers had kept that foot in bounds on that would-be-TD catch it might have worked. Even if it had, it still would have been forced.

if the plays were more about getting Jabrill reps. It seemed like he handed the ball off quite a bit against RU and today he seemed to keep a lot. Either way, I agree it seemed forced but the film on those plays should be helpful for Jabrill.

They didn't do anything new with Peppers, and Illinois did their homework.

Peppers I think had a down day overall but I don't think that's a contradiction.  He pulled when he probably should've handed off but it didn't matter.  My point is that if Harbaugh felt an urgent need to add to Peppers' highlight reel he could've rolled out new stuff that sprung him for 200 yards and 3 TDs.  He obviously kept that stuff in the garage. . . for Sparty.  Today's stuff was just for Sparty's A/V interns to feast on.

Relax little buddy, nobody's complaining. I'd love to have Jabrill playing offense every play. I'm saying get him in the open field, maybe run some jet sweeps, screens, anything. If anything I think we could've used him more throughout the game without giving up plays to future oppenents, but that wasn't needed this week.

Yeah. I'd like to be using him a bit more than we had up until today, but it did sort of fall flat in this game. Maybe save him for those situations where we know he can be deadly and/or mix it up with some different looks for him to run. He is the focus of the D every time he steps on the field and they will be familiar with everything we have run with him in previous games.

I think he try's to make the highlight reel play a little too much from time to time, which with his athletic ability, who can blame him??? But that run inside the 5 where he tried to hurdle, I think if he bounced it outside he had a good shot at winning a race to the pylon and adding a TD to his resumé.
