If you could pick one NFL player to play on Michigan next year...

Submitted by Dan Man on

Here's the hypothetical: if you could pick one current NFL player and have him play on Michigan's team next year, who would it be?  Ridiculous, I know, but I think it's an interesting question.

Despite my feeling that our offense will still be much better than the defense, I would pick Peyton Manning.  To me, you put Peyton in our offense and it becomes unstoppable.  I also pick Peyton over Brady because, despite my affinitly and respect for Tom Brady, I think if you take Bellichick out of the equation Peyton is a slightly better all-around QB.  Just my opinion.

I would also be tempted to take Polamalu because he would have such an enormous effect on our D, but I think that QB is by far the most important position in football.  We could also still use Denard in a variety of ways.

Who would you pick and why?

No college defense would stop him.  He'd throw for 500 and 6-7 touchdowns a game.  We'd never lose.

I mean all the choices so far are good.  I immediately thought defense however and would love a Freeney or have always been partial to Ngata, dudes straight dirt on the field.

To answer the question what position impacts a team the most it has to be qb right? Given that I think the only logical answers are someone in the Brady Manning category. Once Woodson (my favorite athlete ever) gets added to the field, don't oppose qbs just stop throwing to him?

The college game would be like slow motion for Brady or Manning and they'd have a field day.

Qb we have Denard. OL/WR should be good shape. CB should be ok (woolfork/Floyd). DL has 3 solid players. RB no standout but I feel we have depth that should produce a solid 1-2 punch. Based on the team I would say LB/FS is the need.

I will go with a big time FS such as Ed Reed.

Rotate Woolfork back to FS and give me Woodson at CB
