#41 Glen Rice
I thought that myself when I read that article that talked about a Data Scientist(tm)
#41 Glen Rice
I know, we have enough shooters, but he is 6'4", over 40% from three and no one else has selected him yet...I think.
Trey Burke is the obvious answer, since you didn't specify non-Michigan, so I'll take him...
but since you also didn't say active, I'd probably pick the best Big 10 alum in the NBA right now - Zach Randolph...
Not sure he fits though, our only real weakness is lack of a backup for GR3. Someone who can D up and space the floor. Let's expand our search to Europe to find an ideal fit -- Zack Novak...
OK, I'll play by your (unstated) rules of an active, non-Michigan, conference player. Assuming we keep the rest of our roster, I'm thinking a cross between everything that is good about Blake McLimans and Matt Vogrich, with more athleticism. Someone with experience and knowledge of our coaching staff would be good too. The perfect guy -- Evan Smotrycz...
But if you're making me choose from the CURRENT conference, I'd take Oladipo over any other active non-Michigan current Big Ten player, though Craft would be hard to pass up as well. Either way, it's defense we could use more of.
Assuming you're talking about guys from other schools, Oladipo. Easily.
Payne without a doubt. He stretches the floor being an athletic big that can shoot a three. I think that would work great for Beilein.
Thomas. You can never have enough lengthy guys who can shoot the three. Plus, Beilein has no problems rotating, so it would just mean that GR3, Hardaway, and Stauskas get that much more time to rest.
Thomas, one of the violent msu big men, Zeller or the dude from Minny. Basically, more inside SIZE, STRENGTH and Tony Montana balls aside from Mitch.
I think I'll go with Devin Funchess.
Gotta go with Payne.
When brunette girls are on his mind he nails 3's
Who cares? The team we DO have got us to the final four, while the rest of the B1G watches from home.
Denard, i mean think about the fast break
I don't want any other players. I want to see this team win it all with the people they already have. That would be much more satisfying than any other scenario.
Tim Hardaway's hat?
...but I'm surprised no one suggested Gary Harris, or the frosh. center from Purdue.
Oladipo, Payne, or Thomas. Any would be fine. If I could only take 1, I would probably take Thomas. We could then move GR3 to the 3 and THJ to the 2 and bring stauskas off the bench. That would be an extremely good team.
And Kevin Ware's leg give me the same reaction
I would take zeller. Then we would have two tall awesome bigs down low
John Shurna always stood out to me as one of the more fundamentally sound players in the league, a particular quality any tournament team could benefit from
...especially after they slapped our floor then got made out to be the trolls that they are.
Craft is a decent choice but he'd never really play. I mean sure he'd take Albrecht's minutes, but what is that like 8 a game?
So why would you take a player that plays 8 minutes a game?
That said, Oladipo or Thomas is where I'd go. Either that people considered the 2nd best player in the league...or the best player in our position of need (PF).
