We were right to be so excited at the time.  RR had turned down Alabama the year before, had won one BCS game and led WVU to another, and was the creator of the most innovative offensive scheme since the Wing T.  With the benefit of hindsight, however, I regret that I opened a bottle of vintage champagne (1997) that I had been saving.
