If Hoke is NOT let go right away will the non-Muggles try and save him?

Submitted by mGrowOld on

Assuming Hoke is not let go in the next 24 hours will the players and ex-players FINALLY acknowledge what us Muggles have known for quite some time - that Hoke is not the answer as HC?  Given that all season we have been told by players and ex-players just how insanely awesome Hoke is and that he just needs a bit more time to turn things around I'm wondering if any of them will break ranks and call for the dismissal of their good friend Brady Hoke.

My fear remains that those with influence inside the Athletic Department will continue to lobby for Hoke to be retained to preserve their buddy's career in spite of his horrendous and declining record.  And like it or not they have access to Hackett that we do not enjoy so right or wrong their voice campaigning loudly to save their buddy will be heard while ours is not.

Honest question, does that even get you anything these days? It's by no means a small amount of cash but honestly I'm just trying to gauge what this new athletic department views as an amount worthy of at least some special access. Does that get you rights to say purchase in the club level or guarantee to bowl and away games?

Thought his comments at the end seemed to accept Hoke was gone. Almost suggested that Brady knew it already. I don't know how much say he has amongst the Magical Michigan Men, but he was the QB on the only NC team we've had in living memory.

the revenue decline that will occur if Hoke is retained?

I don't think so.

They may have Hackett's ear in status quo circumstances.  However, the debt that Michigan incurred to finance the stadium upgrade and all of the other facilities has Hackett's ear before anyone.

By all accounts, Hoke seems to be a great guy and his players love him. But as Griese said on the broadcast, "It's a results-based business" and Hoke has not delivered results.

Seems as simple as that.

No ill will, just 100% time for a change.

I can see where the OP is coming from....with that said it's the Marcus Ray's of the world who seem to open their mouths every 5 secs and talk that stupid shit he has been talking lately.

Just seems like the late 90's guys cant shut up despite the shit results in their faces.

Griese did us a favor with his words at the end of this game. His opinion should carry light years more clout than Ray's ever could.
