Can you imagine the pent up anger that will be released on Saturday?
This attack will ultimately backfire. The intensity, if it can be harnassed, for the first few games - Western and ND in particular -will be off the charts.
Mike Martin just turned green and busted out of his jersey.
/excited and that they make careless mistakes. I want them fired up read to "fuck shit up" but not careless.
Minor Rage touchdown run!! Big House becomes like an electric eel on speed.
Judging by the look on their faces from the press conference, I don't think they'll be too excited. I'm hoping for incredibly pissed off, like, "find the nearest opposing team, chew off their heads and drink their blood" pissed off.
I think it's going to be more of a pissed off rage. If this didn't come out, I think they would still be all excited for the game and less pissed. I might consider breaking into the WMU locker room and try to slap some Freep stickers on their helmets before the game. Either way, this team will be ready to prove themselves enough based on last years outcome.
Completely OT but I don't think this is really worthy of a new thread topic, is the site running on the slow side today? Maybe its just b/c of a ton of traffic on the site, anyways just curious.
Trouble loading a lot of the MGoBoard threads, and even the main page at times. Makes sense, the boards have been used heavily all day.
Actually, you're absolutely right. And from someone who does a lot of in-depth Diary work and gets pissed when that forum gets trivialized, I immediately wanted to pull it back. I was going to develop something on how this whole blow up would translate on the field, and pretty much had nothing except they are going to go beserk on Saturday.
Veeeewy slowly today. I've gotten the "network timeout" screen a fuckton today.
The team should be extremely fired up. My question is, will all of the fans be too?
Certainly around these parts the answer seems like it would be a resounding "yes". It can't be denied though that there is a contingent of fans that feed off of the kind of dribble that the Free Press specializes in spewing. Which side will be the most noticeable in the Big House come Saturday? Will us fans, as a single entity, come across as supportive of our coach when he's under fire or will we appear to be curmudeons with a "this wouldn't happen to Bo" attitude?
Maybe it's a moot question though. Once the team gets rolling, most fans are likely to follow suit regardless of their opinion.
I want odds on Denard breaking one and the over/under on the length. Is 80 yards in 5 seconds fast?
Not fast for Denard. Anybody else it would be amazing, but that's a slow jog for Shoelace.
that Denard may break out his "teleportation gear" during a run on Saturday. He basically gets going fast enough to teleport straight to the endzone after a warmup jog 10 yards past the LOS. He might even create a worm hole and just jump through that for 6.
Would he have to juke Rosenberg to get thru the worm hole, or just run his ass over.
i get the feeling a lot of people (obv outside of mgoblog) think this is the program unraveling but i hope everyone comes out saturday ready to get behind the team rather than continue the pattern of self-hatred. i hope to be hoarse before the end of the half
I'll for sure be all about getting behind this team and seeing what they can do. I also look forward to having no voice come Labor Day.
canned dog food on Saturday.
I would like to believe this but I felt the same about Oregon after App State.
Oregon in 2007 is much better than Western this year. Michigan was overmatched against Oregon, but probably won't be against Western.
if we are somehow overmatched on Saturday, it won't be to the degree of the Oregon game. Actually, it could be the same scenario, just opposite. Oregon threw their spread offense at us and we weren't ready at all. Maybe WMU won't be ready for the offensive speed either.
We aren't coming off a stunning, season-destroying loss that caused us to drop out of the top 25 (when we were #5). We're 0-0 and have just had to deal with some irritating press.
We all have to remember that most Michigan fans don't follow the day to day, or even hour to hour, progress of the football team on MGOBLOG. Those fans will pick up their morning paper, read this story, and be like, "RR is ruining Michigan football, he's gotta go".
I hope I'm wrong here, but I'm quite sure this was the intent of the Freep article, and to some extent it might work.... at least at first before all the facts come out.
I really feel sorry for that team, they don't know what's going to hit them on the 5th at 3:30.
They dont know whats about to happen. When B.G comes flying of the edge and Hiller is just standing there like a deer in the head lights, well we all know the outcome of that
Key the MGoBlogger with the PSU pic as their avatar in 3...2...1...
Where are my boys at? Time to fuck shit up saturday.
New Maize and Blue won't look like last year come saturday...when Denard or Tate break one everyone can forget about Death
Not gonna lie, I kinda wish our head ball coach didn't cry in a live broadcast for the world to see, but I'll be damned if I'm not 'all in for Rich Rod' for it. This is a guy who evidently cares quite deeply for his players, and if you didn't think the whole 'family values' nonsense hit hard with him, now you know those shots really bruised him. The man is no wimp, and I've never heard anyone refer to him as overly sensitive or "Vermeilian", so I found his presser remarks nothing but sincere.
I'm looking for the team to rally hard around their coach; I don't know if one year and a summer has been enough time for the players to put their coach's ego on their backs, but I hope so. I'm just saying, the Vegas odds for WMU are looking real good to me right now.
Meeechigan Dan knows his shit.
