I will not complain about M uniforms anymore. Golden State adds sleeves.
M has made some terrible uni decisions the past few years that have set the board off. At this point I am just happy that basketball uni's with sleeves haven't popped up in A2. Wtf?

with a navy block-M, contrasting names and numbers over invisivble names and numbers on a basketball jersey, even on a basketball court.

But there's more real estate for potential ads! The Future is here.
February 11th, 2013 at 8:59 PM ^
I haven't gotten over that. Ads on NBA uniforms are going to look awful.
February 11th, 2013 at 5:20 PM ^
Ive seen high schools with better uniforms. This is a disgrace.
February 11th, 2013 at 5:45 PM ^
That just doesn't look right.
February 11th, 2013 at 11:50 PM ^
or does it look like they took normal sleeveless jerseys and then sewn on sleeves. why is it so disjointed? if you're going to make a t-shirt jersey, then commit to the idea gat dang it!

I say let's go full on snuggie for our home game against MSU. Maize snuggies, though. Gotta respect the maize-out.
EDIT: Somebody put Dave Brandon on the phone, found them. Though the maize-out is called off (sorry to disappoint you all)
February 11th, 2013 at 8:11 PM ^
That snuggie design is terrible. My M snuggie looks much nicer than that.

this looks like a gross nock off soccer jersey

nock, nock
"Who's there?"
"Me."
"Me who?"
"No, seriously, its me. I'm just telling a 'nock-nock' joke."
February 11th, 2013 at 4:22 PM ^
I say we go in the opposite direction and bring back the '90s scoop tank tops (also, cool bicycle hats)!

Sorry to hijack but I dont have enough points to start a new thread. First, holy damn. I need to find her (courtesy of http://thechive.com). Second, where can i find the hat she is wearing? I must own it. Also, if you can help me work out some kind of package deal then thanks!

but at my age as long as it ain't sagging in all the right places I can easily look past a face.

You don't have enough points to start a thread precisely because you apparently haven't yet learned that it would be a horrible, horrible idea to start a thread with this pic as the subject. I've deleted the picture to return this thread back to "SFMrs.K" status. Let this serve as a warning.

It's too drastic a change. Please no more Adidas when their contract ends with U of M.
February 11th, 2013 at 4:28 PM ^
According to this story, the sleeved jersey is 26 percent lighter than a standard NBA jersey (although it would presumably be even lighter if you cut off the sleeves).
Also, think of the 'Wow' effect of putting advertisements on players' sleeves
If the NBA revives its now-postponed plan to add advertising patches to the league's uniforms, the sleeves will offer some handy real estate for patch placement. Could that be the real reason behind this new jersey format? Hmmm.

You need to find her? I'd start looking in women's clothing stores. Poor thing seems to have lost her top.
February 11th, 2013 at 4:27 PM ^
The first time I missed a few shots, I would ask the trainer for some scissors.
February 11th, 2013 at 4:29 PM ^
Yeah, don't look now but this is an Adidas product and they have openly stated they will be implementing it on the college level as well.
Will Michigan use it? Maybe. Meinke said on twitter he wouldn't be surprised.
Adidas logic - current products are poor quality (ripping issue), so let's divert resources and establish an equally inferior, but more hideous solution.
February 11th, 2013 at 4:46 PM ^
Adidas is not poor quality. It's also not as ugly as cheesy Nike crap.

The Evansville Aces (Missouri Valley Conference) actually sported the sleeved look for a while in the 70s and 80s, I believe, and they have periodically revived it as a throwback now and again. I don't know if anyone else ever went this direction though in the NCAA (probably with good reason though, looking at these).
As for the Warriors' jerseys, I am pretty sure that all of them cannot be the overall time leader in the Tour De France, so the question must be whether or not Stephen Curry or David Lee will wear the coveted "malliot jaune" while the rest of the Warriors wear an NBA jersey.
February 11th, 2013 at 5:32 PM ^
I remember Evansville's sleeved jerseys. And it's unfortunate that I have this memory.
February 11th, 2013 at 4:31 PM ^
that is awful. Guaranteed we see our guys in them next year.
February 11th, 2013 at 4:41 PM ^
Just like all of Michigan's gimmick jerseys the past few years, I'm sure the players love wearing them . . .
February 11th, 2013 at 4:45 PM ^
WOW---just wow.
February 11th, 2013 at 4:49 PM ^
This one falls on the strength and conditioning coach. Whole team must be self-conscious about their biceps.
February 11th, 2013 at 5:07 PM ^
...on the one hand, I don't mind sleeves & basketball because most of the time I ever played it was while wearing a t-shirt.
But having said that, it does seem to me that basketball teams should be sticking with the more traditional basketball jersey.
February 11th, 2013 at 5:10 PM ^
Basketball jerseys are starting to look like cycling kits. Unfortunetely here's the future...
February 11th, 2013 at 5:33 PM ^
I don't think any of us deserved to see that.

I'm amazed that changing a team name to the Pelicans has now been bumped to the SECOND stupidest front office move this year.
February 11th, 2013 at 10:48 PM ^
DB one upping them with long sleeve uni's next year. FTW!!!
February 11th, 2013 at 11:07 PM ^
Of course, the spikes would have to be removed.

When disaster strikes, it’s important to be ready with a disaster recovery plan. Being prepared, however, isn’t simply about predictable disasters, such as hurricanes, floods or earthquakes, it’s about the unexpected events as well.
February 12th, 2013 at 7:08 AM ^
And lets not forget about the infamous University of Evansville baseball jerseys for basketball look!
