M has made some terrible uni decisions the past few years that have set the board off.  At this point I am just happy that basketball uni's with sleeves haven't popped up in A2. Wtf?

I'd take a soccer jersey...

with a navy block-M, contrasting names and numbers over invisivble names and numbers on a basketball jersey, even on a basketball court.

I say let's go full on snuggie for our home game against MSU.  Maize snuggies, though.  Gotta respect the maize-out.

EDIT: Somebody put Dave Brandon on the phone, found them.  Though the maize-out is called off (sorry to disappoint you all)

You don't have enough points

You don't have enough points to start a thread precisely because you apparently haven't yet learned that it would be a horrible, horrible idea to start a thread with this pic as the subject.  I've deleted the picture to return this thread back to "SFMrs.K" status.  Let this serve as a warning.

The best part

According to this story, the sleeved jersey is 26 percent lighter than a standard NBA jersey (although it would presumably be even lighter if you cut off the sleeves).

Also, think of the 'Wow' effect of putting advertisements on players' sleeves

If the NBA revives its now-postponed plan to add advertising patches to the league's uniforms, the sleeves will offer some handy real estate for patch placement. Could that be the real reason behind this new jersey format? Hmmm.

Yeah, don't look now but this

Yeah, don't look now but this is an Adidas product and they have openly stated they will be implementing it on the college level as well.

Will Michigan use it?  Maybe. Meinke said on twitter he wouldn't be surprised.

Adidas logic - current products are poor quality (ripping issue), so let's divert resources and establish an equally inferior, but more hideous solution.

The entire NBA is adidas.

Adidas is not poor quality. It's also not as ugly as cheesy Nike crap.

Little-Known But True...

The Evansville Aces (Missouri Valley Conference) actually sported the sleeved look for a while in the 70s and 80s, I believe, and they have periodically revived it as a throwback now and again. I don't know if anyone else ever went this direction though in the NCAA (probably with good reason though, looking at these).

As for the Warriors' jerseys, I am pretty sure that all of them cannot be the overall time leader in the Tour De France, so the question must be whether or not Stephen Curry or David Lee will wear the coveted "malliot jaune" while the rest of the Warriors wear an NBA jersey.

I remember Evansville's sleeved jerseys.   And it's unfortunate that I have this memory.

Meh...I don't know...

...on the one hand, I don't mind sleeves & basketball because most of the time I ever played it was while wearing a t-shirt.

But having said that, it does seem to me that basketball teams should be sticking with the more traditional basketball jersey.

When disaster strikes, it’s important to be ready with a disaster recovery plan. Being prepared, however, isn’t simply about predictable disasters, such as hurricanes, floods or earthquakes, it’s about the unexpected events as well.
