I wanted to give my thoughts about the win against Uconn

Submitted by the_big_house 500th on

First off I have to give some huge props to 16 Denard "Shoelace" Robinson on a spectacular 383 yards running game for the sophmore quarterback. He looked like he couldn't even be touched out there by Uconn's defensive line. Smith looked good, Shaw looked good, Roh plowing down Frazer was beautiful. It's hilarious around my friends when I call him "Death Roh" because they just look at me and go "huh, who's that." I simply say #88. Everyone looked impressive in the home opener and it was a perfect way to kick-off the the 2010 campaign with not just a win but with a blow out win. This will give Michigan a strong boost of confidence now going into South Bend this coming weekend against the Irish and I have a feeling Denard will put up more numbers again on Saturday. I know it's only one game but I think it's a possible preview of a great season here in 2010. I definitely think now that Rodriguez has found his quarterback and both Shoelace and Michigan have made some doubters a little more quiet. We will have to see how they face against ND this weekend but I truly believe we have a good chance to blow them out. GO BLUE!

... i wouldn't go as far to say everyone looked impressive, there was a few things that need to be worked on, but i think they can be fixed before next saturday in the film room.

...but I am not the least bit tired of threads about how great this weekend has been.  Threads about a win are a lot more fun than threads about a loss.

like they were having fun out there and enjoying the game. Denard had a smile on his face going back into the snap after Smith's TD run and that's what you want to see out there. Confidence and as a coach to see your players having fun and taking control of the game and Michigan did just that. This weekend will be more challenging because it's on the road at ND but if we play as good as we did against Uconn, put points up early and often and don't turn the ball over then I'd have to say Michigan will dominate play once again! I'm so ready to go to South Bend for this one next weekend!

party pooper or anything, but lets not get ahead of ourselves. It was the first game of the season and somthing could happen. Don't get me wrong, I loved the win, but we need to stay within ourselves.

Wait! What do you think about the Wings this year?!

If/when Denard has a bad game, are you going to snap and go off on a huge rant about how he should be benched? You sir are the ultimate roller-coaster, bi-polar fan.

My personal favorite are the Buffalo kind. I'm a traditional guy, just toss them into Frank's Hot Sauce, (with blue cheese dressing on the side or the terrorists win) and celery to munch on. Plenty of lager to wash it all down.

Thanks for the enthusiasm, but let's not get too excited yet.  I think Robinson will perform well this year, but I fully expect him to throw up a couple of clunkers, especially against teams with better secondaries and LBs.  Last year everyone thought Tate was going to lead UM back to a bowl game, but seemingly everyone threw him under the bus after kickoff.  The defintion of being a fan is rife with over-exagerations and passion, but let's not crown Robinson the next great UM QB quite yet.  Enjoy the win, but next week may well be a completely different story.
