I Love You Guys Thread

Submitted by MeanJoe07 on
Hey guys. Obviously I'm drunk right now and just sitting here in my jorts and refusing to use paragraphs, but I'd like to offer a chance at a different kind of thread. Let's all bitch and moan and suffer together. Let's suffer real good and hard together. TOGETHER. I propose that we do not look at puppies or kittens or randomly say F*** those things or eachother to hide the pain. Let's try not to say unkind things about my fellow Aussie Blake. Let's just good ole fashion suffer together and support each others suffering. This was the "red wedding" of Michigan football. The end felt a little like a sudden break up just when things were swell. The stomach flip of missing the last step or falling off a branch. It's part of us and our fan experience now. It reminded me of my own mortality and how drastically things can change in an instant. I don't know what my point is. Maybe that IS the point right now. I will say I love all you guys and I look forward to the rest of the season with you. I have zero fucks to give if you don't like me or this thread. I love you anyways damn it. Especially that Rappin Randle guy. Whoa is it just me or is my spelling fucking on point right now? Anyways, college football is awesome, but I think we should keep our expectations in check at least until WE WIN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP NEZT YEAR!!!! WEEE!!!! GO BLUE!!! LKVE YOU GUYS!!! Also . . . Fine let's look at puppies and kittens. And I wish you all goodnight as you eventually quit drinking and go to bed!!!!! Weeee!!!! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm glad I'm not the only one that the ending reminded of the tenuous grasp that we all have on improbable events that can kill us. Love you too, random people on the internet.

I am already down to being about 10% as pissed as I was.  I am just going to stay away from highlights and any mentions of the game that already happened and look forward to the team improving again.

I was crushed earlier but am starting to feel better about it. Everyone in the state knows that MSU got extremely lucky there and that was with all the calls in the world that the refs could possibly think to throw at us. Win out and go to the big ten championship game. Nobody would care if state got a lucky win against us if we win the big ten title.

and Sparty has to travel to Lincoln against a team that's been in every game they've played this year.  The odds of those two things happening are a lot greater than what MSU had to go on with 10 seconds left, and if they do happen, we'll be back in control of our own Big Ten destiny against OSU if we win our next four as clear favorites.

After that, the most horrible thing I have ever seen in sports, I was ready to give up the game.  Forget it--I'm done.  Never again.  But a couple of hours later I was on this blog.  I would really miss this place and you folks if I gave it up.

I hope Bryan, Ace and the gang take a "That was a good game, but what the duckling at the end!?!?! . . . ah well guys" approach instead of a "we're doomed!!!" attitude. I need them to comfort me.

Wanted so badly to shut them up.

I actually got a text from the douchebag that I bought my house from (Sparty fan) with a link to the last play. I haven't communicated with him in over a year (and he didn't disclose some house stuff) and I get that.

I just responded with our overall record. 7 years is nothing in the big picture. We will get back on track.x

they haven't exactly bagged on Bolden but all year he's been their "weak link" on defense. I think we missed him. Further, everything they've been repeating as "something going so well its bound to haunt us eventually" happened, from the botched KO to the punt. It's as if the devil msu sold their soul to was listening and decided to throw all of it into the msu game lol. Crazy how we won despite almost everything being so "meh" and yet we absolutely lost, too. I have the strangest feeling. It was never anger, btw. It's a mix of David Goes To Dentist and self schadenfreude (if that exists). I started laughing after seeing the play for the 4th-5th time. Everything....LITERALLY EVERYTHING....from coaching prep to execution to result of play to overall result went as bad as it could have. Zero "could been worse" on that last, game winning punt (if, in fact, nobody was back to recieve). Everything. So much so that I had to begrudgingly laugh. From full win to full loss in 10 seconds, completely on EVERYONE'S shoulders involved, players to coaches alike. I'm not saying to enjoy it (or that I did despite my inability to think of a better way to describe how I feel) but to take it in context. We won but we lost. We definitely lost. 5-2. Yet, we won in every other parallel universe lol. I don't hate anyone, that is forever the Red Wedding play and put it behind us. Go Blue!
