I hope....
I find I'm so excited that I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it's the excitement only a Michigan Man can feel. A Michigan Man at a start of a long season whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it to the end of the game without passing out from drinking. I hope Brian Kelly has a spazz attack. I hope we win handedly. I hope we ruin Notre Dames season. I hope this will be an amazing recruiting weekend for all the prospects visiting Ann Arbor. I hope.

Dude. The only acceptable response to the comment you replied to is:
"So was Red."

I'm pretty sure Atreyu trying to save Artax from drowning was the saddest part of any movie in the history of the world. At least it was during my childhood.

Ok- just turned on ESPN and Mark May Picked Michigan and Lou Holtz picked of course ND. Shocker! Holtz went bizzzzerker.
My question to you all....has anyone ever seen Lou "chemical imbalance" Holtz ever pick against ND????
I never have! I find it this crazy asshole picks ND every game for the past 5 years does he know he is on national television ????
Anyone agree with me here??? Sorry for the cuss words felt it was necessary here.
September 6th, 2013 at 6:45 PM ^
Espn should ask Holtz who would win ND or Baltamore Ravens?
Holtz would Double down on ND....this dude is strange.
September 6th, 2013 at 7:41 PM ^
Lou Holtz would say that Notre Dame could hang 70 points on the '85 Bears defense and really believe it. I know we're all homers here, but this guy takes it to another level.

Because you keep watching. Don't tune in.
September 6th, 2013 at 6:46 PM ^
Keeping a close eye on you.
September 6th, 2013 at 8:04 PM ^
He also picked against them in 2011 when South Florida rolled into South Bend.....BTW.....his son Skip was the South Florida coach at the time. FWIW they lost both of these games where he picked against ND
September 6th, 2013 at 11:59 PM ^
That game was mind numbing for me. ND racked up over 500 yards of offense and Crist couldn't finish drives.
September 6th, 2013 at 8:11 PM ^
My blog is called Im a homer but Lou Holtz takes it to an entire different level. Holtz is the type of guy that would say the Irish could of beat the '72 Dolphins and believe it with all his heart.

Didn't he pick his son's USF(?) squad over ND 2 years ago?
September 6th, 2013 at 9:08 PM ^
So really he only picked one team to beat ND and it was USF and he picked that team of all because his son was coaching....what a nimrod.
September 6th, 2013 at 10:15 PM ^
He picked Connecticut to win in 2009 but only because he picked Pitt the week before and said if Pitt beat ND he would pick Connecticut the next week........Pitt won and he was cornered.

Here are some facts (i.e. TRUTH) that ND fan needs to know about their parent (Michigan):
1) On May 30, 1879, Michigan played its first intercollegiate football game against Racine College at White Stocking Park in Chicago. The Chicago Tribune called it "the first rugby-football game to be played west of the Alleghenies. |
2) In 1881, Michigan played against Harvard in Boston. The game that marked the birth of inter-sectional football. |
3) On their way to a game in Chicago in 1887, Michigan players stopped in South Bend, Indiana and introduced football to students at the University of Notre Dame. A November 23 contest marked the inception of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program and the beginning of the Michigan-Notre Dame rivalry. |
A “good” parent always wants their child to succeed and be better than they were (why, because a “good” parent loves their child more than they love themselves).
In lieu of the above mentioned TRUTH, Michigan is very happy that their child (ND) has bested them in several statistical categories. Please take another look at the football numbers below again—they are AWESOME! Michigan is a very proud parent!
So please remember ND fan, when considering your football team’s level of team/individual achievements. Don’t forget about the parent (Michigan) who made you, shaped you and loves you for who you are; not what they think you should be (could you please stop killing kids!!! That’s not the way Michigan raised you.)
In closing, when ND wins; Michigan wins. When Michigan wins; ND is simply being taught a valuable life lesson (e.g. don’t disrespect your parent) that will help them maximize their true potential down the road.
I don’t know the outcome of tomorrow night’s family reunion. I do know that Michigan will always be proud of their creation!
Go blue!

September 6th, 2013 at 7:56 PM ^
I think he picked against ND a couple years back when his son, Skip, was coaching against ND with South Florida. He made the correct pick FWIW.
September 6th, 2013 at 8:14 PM ^
He picked south florida in a couple of years ago.
September 6th, 2013 at 8:23 PM ^
I promise you Ufer was a bigger homer, and I loved it. MEEEEEEECHIGAN.
September 6th, 2013 at 9:10 PM ^
