I hope....

I find I'm so excited that I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it's the excitement only a Michigan Man can feel. A Michigan Man at a start of a long season whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it to the end of the game without passing out from drinking. I hope Brian Kelly has a spazz attack. I hope we win handedly.  I hope we ruin Notre Dames season.  I hope this will be an amazing recruiting weekend for all the prospects visiting Ann Arbor. I hope.

Here are some facts (i.e. TRUTH) that ND fan needs to know about their parent (Michigan):

1)      On May 30, 1879, Michigan played its first intercollegiate football game against Racine College at White Stocking Park in Chicago. The Chicago Tribune called it "the first rugby-football game to be played west of the Alleghenies.

2)      In 1881, Michigan played against Harvard in Boston. The game that marked the birth of inter-sectional football.

3)      On their way to a game in Chicago in 1887, Michigan players stopped in South Bend, Indiana and introduced football to students at the University of Notre Dame. A November 23 contest marked the inception of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program and the beginning of the Michigan-Notre Dame rivalry.

A “good” parent always wants their child to succeed and be better than they were (why, because a “good” parent loves their child more than they love themselves).

In lieu of the above mentioned TRUTH, Michigan is very happy that their child (ND) has bested them in several statistical categories.  Please take another look at the football numbers below again—they are AWESOME! Michigan is a very proud parent!

So please remember ND fan, when considering your football team’s level of team/individual achievements. Don’t forget about the parent (Michigan) who made you, shaped you and loves you for who you are; not what they think you should be (could you please stop killing kids!!! That’s not the way Michigan raised you.)

In closing, when ND wins; Michigan wins. When Michigan wins; ND is simply being taught a valuable life lesson (e.g. don’t disrespect your parent) that will help them maximize their true potential down the road.

I don’t know the outcome of tomorrow night’s family reunion. I do know that Michigan will always be proud of their creation!

I can't wait til tmr.  I will try to drink a lot tonight where I am happy in the moment but will probably still feel uncomfortable because I want it to be Saturday.  I also hope I win the corn hole (bean bag toss) tournament tomorrow, so pray for me.

I think he picked against ND a couple years back when his son, Skip, was coaching against ND with South Florida. He made the correct pick FWIW.
