I guess Denard is going to Green Bay

Where else do Michigan Heisman trophy winners go to win their Super Bowl.  I can already see McCarthy implementing the Denard formation -- he'll be Randel-El but Michigan better.

Can't Wait.

He has a ways to go before he really has a solid shot at QB in the NFL, and even then I think the chances there are around 0.001%.   He has a LOT of things working against him to be successful in the NFL at that position.

I'd love love love to see it happen, but I don't think any team would bring him on, and I honestly think he would greatly struggle as well.

2 attributes, above all else, will allow a quarterback to succeed in the NFL. Those are smart - being able to read a defense and know where the ball needs to go - and accurate - being able to put the ball where it needs to go. Brady, Manning, Roethlisberger, Rodgers, and Brees all have these two things. Denard's accuracy is debatable and he hasn't been given a chance to read a defense in the traditional sense. If he shows he is both smart and accurate over the next two years, you can expect to see him at least given a shot as an NFL QB, but until then, you kind of have to cool your expectations a bit.

before we hand him the Heisman. The expectations are kind of ridiculous—there are so many factors completely outside Denard Robinson's control that directly impact who gets the Heisman. Like whether or not we'll have a defense worth a damn next year. And, perhaps most importantly, whether or not we beat Ohio State.

Tom Harmon, Desmond Howard, and Charles Woodson all won the trophy in years we beat OSU, and in each case, they had spectacular games. Denard won't win the Heisman unless we beat OSU, and our defense has to play well for that to happen. Denard's chances even in a win will decline if he doesn't have a Heisman-worthy performance himself.

Let's let things play out. If he doesn't win the Heisman, will people judge him a failure in a Michigan uniform? I sure as hell won't, but I have the feeling some knuckleheads will.

Why would an NFL team waste all that time and money to develop a player into a position that does not optimize his talents?  Because he might, possibly be a good qb if everything goes just right?....But as of now, he is already a speed demon who can be an explosive force on special teams and on the outside in any offense.

Of course he will be a return man / WR in the league, like a Devin Hester, Deshawn Jackson type.

When you have a machine gun you don't try to utilize it as a sniper rifle.

Wait, did Cam Newton lose the statue due to payments for him to go to Auburn?  And did Luck, James, Blackmon & Moore also get pinched for cheating?  I was unaware that Denard had won the Heisman.  Congrats to him and you guys!

When I saw the title for this thread, I immediately concluded that someone had travelled forward in time and seen Denard get drafted by Green Bay. Glad to see it is merely a remark about the number of Wolverines playing  for the Packers.......
