The defense played very badly, but am I the only one who can't believe we went to the I-formation on that second to last drive? There was still plenty of time left in the game why were we not running the offense? We moved the ball at will in the second half! The defense gave up the touchdown but that decision gave UMass the ball inside the 30 and almost cost us the game in my opinion.

I just couldn't believe we were content to go 3 and out and punt it back when our D was clearly not playing well. The offense should help the defense out in that situation and either score or run some serious time off the clock.

That was close, I-Formation was a bad idea, thier line is an average 303-Pounds, they would kill us pound to pound running the I-Formation, and they did on that drive!!

In that series, two I formation runs gained -2 yards. Ace formation gains 8. Use the I formation and ignore the backside run blitz!

I could be wrong, but I believe on 3rd and short on the last drive of the ND game, we did the I-Form and got stuffed. On 4th and 1, we went back to the shotgun and converted, the rest is history. When we absolutely needed it, we went with our bread and butter. Not sure why we EVER run out of the I-formation.

We've actually used the I successfully on several short-yardage situations this year. Hopkins' TD last week came out of the I, as did Shaw's TD today.

We ran the I-formation against Iowa last year and stuffed the ball down the Hawkeyes' throats in the third or fourth quarters.
Lousy idea. We could have had 60 points; and we almost needed them.
