I Feel Your Pain

Submitted by psychomatt on
As the dust settles from this weekend, I can't help but think I know how the Domers feel. They are in absolute and total shock. Everyone told them they had the better team. They spent weeks preparing and did everything they were supposed to do to walk away with a victory. They were the ones that were supposed to be celebrating as time ran out. But somehow one guy on the field just didn't get the memo and messed everything up. It happened to us in The Horror. It also happened to us in the Rose Bowl against Texas. I do not feel bad for the Irish, I am enjoying their pain. But I definitely know how they feel. And I have a big smile on my face because I am certain this is not the last time I will see that look of utter helplessness and shock on the faces of an opponent.

You can easily pin the loss on one person and that is Pear Bryant himself. Had he ran the ball those last two plays and made UM take their final two time outs you would very likely have seen a different outcome. We hadn't stopped their run game all day and even if we did get a stop, we would have had no time outs left. Yes, I think this one is down to Charlie alone.

... your schadenfreude. But you are dead wrong if you thought Michigan had the better team in the RB against Texas. Michigan was 9-2 and ranked 12th, while Texas was 10-1 and ranked 5th.
