I checked in Charles Woodson today
At the hotel I'm working at in Ann Arbor, while searching for a job that has something to do with my degree in this awful economy, I've been working the third shift.
Who should happen to stroll in at 2:30am, but Mr. Woodson himself. I didn't have time to ask for an autograph or picture, as that might've been slightly unprofessional. But afterwards, he saw my Michigan Alumni ring, and we talked about Michigan for a while.
I presume he is in town for his wine-tasting. Really the nicest guy you could ever meet.
Go Blue!
I thought you worked at a hospital. And then I was planning on yelling at you.
Apologies. Shall I change the thread title?
no, it's just me.
you might want to stay away from the obvious title. A lot more people would get the wrong idea..not that there is anything wrong with that :-)
This clearly breaks the Hotel Inhabitant Privacy Act. HIPA.
I once stayed at a hotel in KC and when they printed my bill out for me upon checkout, the backside of the paper had the names, room numbers, rates and corporate affiliations (if they had one) of all guests. You stay classy, Q Hotel.
...indeed. Nice to see you had a nice interaction with #2/24.
Did he give you pointers about how to walk on?
YOu should have asked him about his thoughts on Pinot Grigio!
...said that Pinot Grigio doesn't measure up to Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
I'm learning to better appreciate wine, However I have never spent over $100.00 for a bottle.
Still, $250.00 seems like a bargain for his signature and what I'm sure is a great Cabernet.
I'm not drinking f'n MERLOT!
My cousin looks exactly like Paul Giamatti's character in that movie. But I have never asked him whether he'd drink any f---in Merlot.
Nor have I have seen him drink expensive French wine with a cheeseburger.
Woodson is 100% Pure Columbian Awesome. I met him at Mongolian BBQ my senior year - the year where he won a Heisman and we won a NC - and he was a very cool guy. He and some (non-FB player) friends was at the table next to the table that my friends and I were at, and because one of the people at my table was friendly with one of the people at hit table, we all hung out for about 2 hours. Even during a season where he was on ESPN just about every day, he was very down to earth - confident, but not an egomaniac.
Similar, we used to go booze at Good Time Charley's for their huge Long Island Ice Tea Tuesday nights. One night at the table next to us with Charles with some friends getting as drunk as we were on the Long Islands. It was in January after the Rose Bowl so I could only assume he was on campus to party and not for academic reasons.
Anyway we talked to him a little and he was pretty grounded. Good guy.
I give you +1 Classy points for not asking Woodson for his autograph. I'm sure he would have done it, but it was probably a bit of a breath of fresh air for him to meet someone who knows who he is that didn't instantly beg for his signature on a blank hotel reciept.
bravo sir, you're a better man than I.
I met him on the field before the 05 OSU game...He is a really cool guy. Didn't get an autograph or anything, but it is something I will remember forever
I fist-bumped Braylon Edwards on the sidelines of the Capital One Bowl. That was pretty cool.

Well I got to second base with Adam Finley at an SAE date party my sophomore year, so THERE!
pretty much partied with BG all night long...probably a close second to Chuck in my all-time books...
Shouldn't the University be putting him up in one of their places? Don't they have a mansion off of Geddes somewhere (Ingall's House, perhaps?) next to the Arb for visting VIPs & dignitaries?
Just sacked up and bought some of the wine. It felt like getting punched in the balls, paying this much for a California wine, but I felt I had to back Woodson's move here.
thats sweet that you got to meet him. ive always wanted to meet him in person. im glad to hear that he is a nice guy
