Hype Train: Sam Webb edition

Submitted by kawter on
Hey all. Found this snippet from Sam and had to share. Keep the train rolling!

Let's end on a positive note...

This team looks good. Really good.    I believe Wilton Speight has greater command of the offense than Jake Rudiock did last year at this time.  I still believe Michigan will roll into Columbus undefeated.  There is every reason to believe that all the lofty expectations placed on Michigan this year are attainable.

mods, I apologize if this is considering "looting" paywalled content... it didn't seem like that much intel compared to his actual posts

good as we all think they are. There are many areas of concern where we are unproven. We should be good, probably very good, but will we be great? I agree with his assessment of Speight versus Rudock at this point in the season. I hope he continues to show the progression.

Yeah I am a little concerned about how much upside there really is with the guys we have on the OL  for this year. Cole will be just fine and if Bredeson is the real deal then that bodes well for the future. I think the OL will be good enough to get through the B1G season, but are they good enough to hold their own against elite DL's? That remains to be seen.

This is true, although I also think Coach D'Antonio shits out Lucky Charms on a regular basis, which is why they had such a strong record last year.

I'm definitely boarding the Hype Train for our team this year, but I also want to do it without having to assume that we'll get inordinately lucky.

They've only lost 4 games total in the last 4 years, I don't see how they'd have more than 2 losses coming in and I wouldn't be surprised if they were 10-1 with their only loss coming to Oklahoma. They lose a lot but they return a very good QB and like it or not Urban Meyer is one of the greates coaches of this generation, aside from OU I can't see who else they'd lose to before us. Sparty is the team in the East that will take a noticeable step back, not Ohio State.

It probably won't be a #1 vs #2 match-up like 2006 but it should be a top 10 match-up.
